Best way to protect headlights
Best way to protect headlights
I am looking to protect my headlights. I have been considering bluebat overlays, lamin-x, and a clearbra.
I need some protection because my headlights have gotten to a point where I will dehaze and wax them, then 2 weeks later they are foggy and oxidized again.
I also need to make sure they wont crack the headlights, it would be preferable if the manufacturer made a guarantee to this effect.

In essense, all of these materials are the same. Just a transparent, vinyl cover for paint/plastics. I'd be willing to bet that bluebat and laminX are the same If they use quality 3M material. It doesnt really make a difference as they would all protect ~the same.
your're not sealing them after waxing? i use a combination of this http://3mcollision.com/products/buff...rnuba-wax.html and this sealant http://www.wolfgangcarcare.com/plast...e-sealant.html its a water sealant. Protects your headlights up to 3 months depending on driving conditions. It's pretty expensive but i still have my bottle after a year of use. Don't have to use that much. So far the headlights are doing great. But since your headlights are getting hazed in such a short time, you may have a failure on the lens. i had to change out the right side on my 07 G35 sedan because it had the same symptons as you are having. only it would haze up in a day or two.

Allright, so I am also taking the tint off of my taillights (sanding it off) this summer, and replacing it with a vinyl tint. I am going to do it the same way I would restore a headlight.
Should I use this sealer on the taillights as well?
The car is also going in for paint, which is better? A Clearcoat, or this sealer?
Is there any problem with putting a clearbra over the headlights after putting that sealer/paint on them (The sealer that muyrec mentioned.)

The sealer is basically just a clearcoat anyways. It's just more designed for plastic (apparently)
A professional clearcoat would far surpass the headlight 'sealer' product. Go for it.
Because it's just a clearcoat, yes, you can put a vinyl/clear 3M strip over them afterwards with no ill effects. Just make sure it's nice and dry/hardened.

One other thing, if I got a clearcoat on the headlights, then decided to bake them to take them apart, would that have any negative effects?
