Coupe 2003 headlights to 2006, Weird Situation
I live in Canada and recently purchased a 2003 G35 Coupe from another province, so in order to pass inspection in my province I require Daylight Driving Lights. My car has the 2006 headlight swap. I cannot find anywhere how to connect these lights so the DDL work. So I decided to find a 12 volt source only when the engine is running and connect the lights via a relay so when I turn on my head lights the relay cuts the power to the DDL.
Here is the weird part I have 12 volts when I started after connecting the lights to that source the lights don't work and the voltage drops to about 2 volts. I've tried this at several points in where I find 12 volts and it does the same thing once I connect the headlights. It seems like the computer senses higher voltage drain at those points and cuts the current.
Am I crazy !!!
I need help.

It is not just plug and play. All works fine....the turn signal has no hyper flashing... Fog lights work...low and high beam work fine....but no daytime driving lights.
OR! maybe you're unaware of the fact that there are 4 positions on the headlight settings? Number 2 is sensor driven and number 4 is full on?
With the original lights they would come on if when I started the car and didn't apply the brakes. If I did apply the brakes then they were off until I lowered the handbrake.
My problem is why does my voltage drop when I find a 12 volt source at engine startup?
