EBay headlights??

http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-2003-2005-G35-2D-Coupe-Black-HID-Replacement-Headlights-Assembly-LEFT-RIGHT-/191497382286?fits=Year%3A2003%7CModel%3AG35&hash=i tem2c9622298e:g:JFYAAOSwh-1W3gPX&vxp=mtr

My oem headlights are garbage. Out in the daily sun of California it's yellow and crusty. Light barely gets through them at night, too much crust in the way. Sanding won't work.. So I'm looking to buy headlights and ppl want too much for used headlights that already have a haze on it. What do you guys think of these? They don't look rice to me, they look just like my oem with with a nice black to it. The ad says I will need to use the ballast and bulbs I currently have, so does this means no fires? Since I'll be reusing oem ballast and there's no leds in the assembly? Lol I don't want my car to catch on fire.. will this even fit my 03 g35 coupe? My headlight assembly reads : DOT D2R VOR HB2 . Has anybody had experience with these?

Refinishing the OEM lights is a better option all the way. Ebay lights wont align with the fenders and hood the way OEM does. I don't care how bad they are with enough sanding and polishing they can be restored to a new finish.

No, they really can't. There are often issues of cracking and chipping that can't be fixed. I bought eBay fronts and popped the clear plastics on my projectors with minor modifications and it looks like new.

Jessex I bought those EXACT lights from that exact seller. All should work out from them.

Lol I see we have somewhat the same taste. Did it fit well with the fender as the other comment mentioned there might be problems? What year is your coupe?

Yes, you can see my thread about the lens's and ebay lights. However, there are two versions of the 06 lights. Before and after the recall. I do think cakestar did the same thing and his didnt fit. So possibly the reason why, is due to the two different versions. You'll find the part #'s and pics in my thread.

Thanks for the update. Didn't know there was a difference.

OP, I bought them to swap the lenses, they should just drop into the OEM spot fine though.

Wait, so you guys just buy them for the lenses? Is there anywhere we can just buy the lenses alone then?

so i just did the swap. fits fine cept there are two tabs that do not align, i just left it, i probably should have cut the tabs off or cut holes in the housing so the tabs lined up but i just left em on and put an extra line of butyl ontop of where the gap was

Did any of you buy the headlights linked in the first post and install those directly to your ride? I was wondering how they fit on the car and if the quality of the assembly is good.

Thanks,
Scott

I did but have a difficult time deciphering who mounted the actual headlight assembly as it comes and who used just the clear cover to put on their stock headlight assembly.

How are yours holding up? How long have they been installed now?

-edit-
For instance your first post reads:

To me this doesn't sound like you bought the headlight assembly to install in place of the headlight assembly you had already. It sounds like you took it apart to use pieces from it.

I'm not looking to do so. I just want to buy the assemblies to replace my installed headlights. Mainly because I really like the look of the black inside rather than chrome. But I don't want to bother with taking anything apart. If I do that I'll just take apart my oem installed headlights and paint them black. But again I don't know if I feel like going that route because I drive my car daily.
