Kenny,
Yes I did. I already opened up my headlights and have run into an issue. The only way to mount the TSX projectors would be to place them behind the low beam headlight bracket (They are kind of chubby). This puts them WAYYY back which is not acceptable to me. So I think we have 2 options.

1. Machine out some of the material on the top of the bracket to let it slide in a bit more.
2. Scrap the TSX projectors and use Valeos or Bosch.

Do you have other ideas?

Pete, if those projectors sit that far back, you're also not going to be able to close the back with the stock dust covers. You have to mount them in front of the bracket somehow.

Ek,
Yea I know There was a guy on 6mt.net that mounted them behind the bracket and it looks like everything fit correctly. I might end up testing it this way and adding the headlight lens/trim to see if it blocks any lighting. From what I have read the projector has to sit waaayyyyy back in the headlight before you loose any side lighting.

That's not exactly true. Mine are as forward as possible and I'm still losing width. The biggest problem with mounting far back, is glare. Light hits the sides of the housing and it bounces in every direction!

I think I saw the one on 6mt.net. The question is, did he have the dust cover on?

I chose the X5 projector because it has a long lens to shield length compared to the reflector bowl length. Even then, I did get glare from the light hitting the bezel. I remedied this by painting the bottom of that bezel flat black. Infiniti does something similar with the 06 lights.

I'm working on another way to control the beam pattern that will do away with having to paint the bezel.

There was someone who emailed me pics of his retrofit. The guy who did it for him, had to totally cut apart the back portion of the headlight, and move the dust cover back another 2 inches or so. The problem is, is that you'll start hitting the fender liner if you move the dust cover back more than an inch. I don't know what happened to his project....

Yeah he seemed to have just dropped off the face of the earth. Maybe, it didnt work? TSX projectors WILL work in g35 headlights though. HIDretro.com has done 2 retros with them. However, both had the projector sitting very inward. The only reason I picked the TSXs was their supposed superior output compared to others. I am going to give it a shot but I might end up just scraping and buying Valeos.

Look at how well the Valeos mount here (PhxBlue, hope you don't mind me jacking your pics )

Pete, if you look on HIDretro.com, they have pics of the back of the headlight jobs that they did for the G35 coupe. They created a new back end for the TSX projectors. I'm not sure if it would hit the fenderliner, but we only have pics of the headlights outside of the car.

Pete, thanks for the info. I haven't had time to take my headlights off the car yet but hopefully this weekend. I have a dremel and if I have to I'll hack the mounting bracket up a little to make these tsx projectors work ! Anyways keep me posted and good luck.

Code,
It is definitely possible. I remember seeing a member post a Bi Xenon retro done by GDragon for his IP sedan. From what I understand it is much more difficult in comparison to the coupe.
