would it be easy to install these on an 05 or lower model coupe? is it basically plug n play?
Its plug in and play but you have to buy all the bulbs. i don't think they come with them.

You might need to get new signal bulbs, because the ones on the 06' are single filament 7440, whereas the older ones are dual filament 7443.

It might still work though, as I think only one of the filaments will light up. Not sure if it would be the right brightness tho. Since the 06' signal lamps have clear lenses, you'll probably want to pick up a set of stealth bulbs tho. I got PIAA Mirror Orange bulbs, because they sell those at a local auto-parts store.

The 06' assembles are cheaper than the older assemblies, because they don't come with bulbs. The local dealer quoted me $425/each for the 06' assemblies. They rip you off on the bulbs. If you want bulbs, the price jumps to almost $800. I just bought Philips D2S bulbs from a local speed-shop for $89/each. Dealer wanted something like $270 each for the hid bulbs.

there are threads about your question... stop stealing my thunder...!!!

here are some updates on the 2006 projector headlights just for nyckid
cheapest yet is 580 for both
they are sold by infiniti specialist on ebay shipping is 60 dollars...
they come with ballests.
you need to buy TWO d2S bulbs and TWO H1 bulbs for the fogs.
two 168 bulbs and two 7440 bulbs in bulbs you should max out at 50 for d2s 20 for h1 5 for 7440 and like 3 for 168

Dealers charge around 750 per headlight and they come with all bulbs
my dealer will price match anything from an oem infiniti dealer online. i.e grubbs, infiniti specialists.
Dealers want 250ish dollars PER d2s bulbs Grand total 500 in brand new infiniti d2s bulbs. i hope that answers all your question...

if you want to save money you can sell your headlights for 450ish shipped which will give you around 200 dollars down the drain.

well if the 2006 headlights didn't have projectors, they would look almost exactly the same...

minus the clearance marker which really doesn't make much difference.

2005 headlights are more rounded... and the 2006 are more egg shaped. i think i will just do a retrofit and put in s2000 projectors in for the lows and tl for the highs/lows

Sorry but s2k's wont fit in the lows, its already been tried. You can fit a TSX. The TL Bi-Xenon's should fit for the Highs/Fogs.

The S2000 reflector portion might be too big, but I haven't tried to fit them first hand.

The TLs will fit. But you'll have to trim the bezel. And the solenoid tends to hit the part where the ballast is mounted.

Here's a shot of my TLs totally modded. Now I just need to get them mounted. Notice that the edges of the beam are much sharper now.

Sorry for the large pic, but this is how I view these pics on my own computer when I try to determine which configuration is best for beam pattern.

Both Projectors s2000 and tsx looks VERY similar. tsx are easier to mount then the s2000's

tsx on page one
s2000 on page one and two
