Do it yourself Clearcorners?
Re: Do it yourself Clearcorners?
Carl, can you share your secret of how to make molds? And what did you use to reseal the housing?
I've had my housing custome painted before, pulled apart many housings, used apoxy, hot glue, all sorts of glue. the apoxy held great, but didnt' look nice. the hot glue won't hold in hot weather, cause I actually used cold glue (duh). Is there a way to get the original goo to restick?

You can also try VWvortex for instructions on the "Joey Mod" on the Golf 4/ Jetta 4 forum (search).
A cool variation is found on the GTI 25th anniversary (overseas), aka GTI 337, is instead of flat black, use black chrome (with chrome trim rings also)

It's not a secret but, its something you can do when you work in engineering for an automotive manufacturer on prototypes. The process involved is nothing you could do at home for an economical price. I use clear silicone to reseal the corners and the original sealer for the headlamps.
