Re: Under Dash Lighting

Are those lights getting power from the cigarette lighters or did you splice into a power cable? Could you also take a pic of what the lights look like when they're not on, as in how they are mounted? Thanks!

Re: Under Dash Lighting

G35Lin,

Did yo have that audio work done by someone or do it yourself? I was looking to upgrade my amp and subs too and I'm not sure what to do with this or even who to talk to that I know won't F up the car's stock audio system? The lighting it the trunk is awesome! Did they tap the power for the lights off the power for the amp or is it another line running into the trunk?

Re: Under Dash Lighting

I sent the guy in the coupe forum my movie with my under dash lighting and he posted it! Today I also installed rear under seat lights that are in line with the front dash and under dash lights! It looks super-cool and for basically $60.00, I installed what others may pay a couple hundred for, a custom interior lighting scheme. I'll post pics of my rears with the fronts as soon as I take them. For now, here's my movie if your interested!

Re: Under Dash Lighting

thanks for posting the vids. the under-dash looks good. I saw those ones that clip onto the center console at the autozone a few days ago. I kinda thought they were cheesy but they turned out ok for you. I think what I want to do is mount 2 LED's in the sunglass holder(I never use it) that point down to give some nice ambience light.

Re: Under Dash Lighting

Cry: i got power directly from the battery. How? well, its kind of stupid but my STUPID *** FRIEND did it and i followed i guess. If you look at your engine, the very left top hand corner, there is a rubber cap with a tube coming out of it.(If you take away all the plastic pieces) Well, we ran the wires through that, by taking that cap off and "putting it back" and put some white sealent(forgot what it was cold) to kind of seal it back. I'll take a pic of the lights a little later! They aren't really mounted mounted though. I just stuck it up under the dash somewhere and it stays fine!!

Re: Under Dash Lighting

Chip: Did that all myself man! Also my friend too. Talk to someone in AL&Ed(but it does charge you an arm and a leg though). I tapped the power from the battery. Everything is coming from the battery. If your in CA, i can recommend you a place possibly.

Re: Under Dash Lighting

GLin,

Thanks for the offer. I'm in Chi Town area and CA is just too far. I tapped the secondary power socket fuse under the dash so my kid can't "F" with it if the car's not on. Wouldn't want to come out for work and have a dead battery becasue my 10 year old got heppy with my lighting! I.m OK with the tap to the fuse as it's easy to work with and I can always take it out quickly if needed. I also have an LED underbody light kit that I haven't installed yet. That I'd do through the battery up front but I'd also keep the main switch up there so my kid doesn't mess with it once it's installed.

Anyone do an underbody kit with their G yet? I'm wondering with all the lovely underbody panels is it possible to do?
