more help here? fog light & JDM questions

No love on the tech forum...maybe you guys can hook me up?

2 questions...

1. I just ordered the JDM clear corners. I keep reading that others do not like the stock bulb w/ the clear lens. What is the best replacement? Orange is ok w/ me.

2. I would like to replace my fog light w/ a white-er light. I don't need xenon...I just don't like the yellow of the fog light.

Yes....I've searched the forums.
No....I've never mod'ed any lighting before, so please spell it out for me. I've been to the performancenissanparts website & see they have many to choose from. If someone has done this, let me know what..where...& how much.

1. If orange is ok with you then just leave in the bulbs that come with the clears, they're orange, but i do agree that the stock bulbs in the orange lens suck with the clears (looks like an ugly yellow)
2. I replaced my Fogs with Luminics H4 6000K pure blue lights. I've also used their 3500K JDM yellow lights. They have a Hyper White bulb as well, i think it would fit into the category that your looking for.

Oh. I did not realize the JDM's come with bulbs.

How's the price on the fogs? I'm up for the DIY. How long?

Thanks for the quick reply!

The fogs are only $25 for the Hyper White's. I did both of my sets of fogs, the first time i was at work so i used a jack and took off the front wheels, it took all of 10 minutes to do both sides. The second time i did it in my driveway and it took about 20 mins because the bolts are harder to get to. If you have never done this kind of work before i wouldnt recommend doing it yourself. It's pretty easy if you know what your doing.

1. Turn the wheel all the way in
2. Take all the screws out of the inner fender
3. Take all the screws out under the car that hold the fender on
4. Peel back the fender liner
5. Unscrew the dust cap for the fogs
6. Pull out the connector from the bulb
7. Pinch the silver hold down to get the bulb out and then put the new one back in.

It's a lot easier if you take off the wheels though, you cant see much if you dont, that's why i said if you havent done this before it can be challenging.
^^^ I did it again without taking the wheels off and it's not much harder than it is with the wheels off, the last time i did it was in the dark with a flashlight, maybe that's why it was harder, but when i did it again for the DIY thread it was super easy when i could actually see in the day light, really no need to take off the wheel (it will take longer to get the wheel off than to change the bulb itself)

The orange bulb that comes with the JDM clear corners matches the orange of the turn signals very nicely.

Check out PIAA Xtreme White Plus or PIAA Xtreme Force bulbs. Both match the color of the HID's pretty closely. http://www.optionsauto.com/

+1 what he said.

I just installed my JDM's. I keep going back & forth from stock bulbs and the orange bulbs they came with. Such an easy swap.

I'll be ordering my fog's soon. After looking at your DIY, I'll prob do it my self...removing the tire.

Thanks again!
