For the 06 people who got their 7440s from PEPBOYS/AUTOZONE

What bulb did you get and what were the results? The only quality bulb I really care for is the CITY LIGHTS and the D2S (which I will have the PHILIPS ULTINONs and PIAAs SUPER WHITES for)..

I'm looking for a simple fix on the 7440s (I'm looking to install these all on MONDAY--so shipping from autolumination will take til WED) sorry to sound over-anxious but I can't wait an extra two days for shipping!! =)

Also if there's a cheapo brand that works well for the H1 fogs I'm all ears Otherwise I'm just not going to buy the fogs

TIA for all the help

I got the PIAA Mirror Orange 7440 bulbs. (I got el-cheapo superwhites for the city lights and H1 fogs, as I only really cared about the signals, because I didn't want them to look orange through the frosted lense) They didn't normally stock it, but they carried them at their warehouse, so they were able to get the bulbs by the next day.

Here are the results:

Closeup of signal housing. No trace of any orange

Illuminated signals, reveal they are quite amber:

Many complained that "other" chromed bulbs are dim. With all 6 florescent tubes in my garage illuminated, you can still see the signals are illuminating my wall:

And when it's dark, it lights up the whole place:

Ah so there isn't really a better bulb for the SIGNALS? I was hoping there was possibly a generic that does the exact same job as the PIAAs

No way man, even in there box you can tell the PIAA Mirror Oranges are of a much higher quality. More translucent.

Someone on the Acura boards got the chromed bulbs from autolumination, which were dirt cheap, but they complained that they were dim as dirt too.

Here is a pic of the bulbs. I didnt leave them installed in my car, I need to get a resistor to slow down the crack head blinking speeds. I will post a pic of how bright they are, when they are back in.
Edit Eariler I said they were 8 LED bulbs, but they are actually 9. The company also makes 12 LED bulbs for the 7740 size.

Make sure you get the bulbs with the side to rear facing leds as well or you won't be getting any reflection off the reflector so it will look like a little dot firing up when being used and could be dangerous.

I already put them in to check brightness. They light up really well. I just need to slow down the blinking speed.
