Nav DVD and fob

Hey guys, I'm from down the way in the G35 section but I'm up the street here looking for a 06 Nav DVD for a family member who just picked up a 06x last night. Anyone know where I can get my hands on that DVD and what is a good price for a fob (he only got 1 with the car and I'm sure he wants the wife to have one). Thanks in advance.....

Not sure about that. My guess is that my family member was taken to an auction by a dealer and those where the things missing.

AFAIK, all auction cars are *supposed* to have the nav DVD with them; the lease returns we occasionally get from Infiniti only auctions ALWAYS come with them.

If the car is from a regular wholesale auction.... =\

You can buy ver 7.4 (newest) from Zenrin (Navteq) for $215 or you can get one from eBay for less - I have seen a few auctions selling v7.4 for $145 shipped.

You can also download it from torrent websites and make an ISO image an burn in on a dual layer DVD+RW for under $15. Just make sure to change the book type in your burning software to regular DVD, so that it is read in all players.

You can also get earlier versions for less. I believe that v7.3 sells for around $85 on eBay, and classified sections of various forums.

A replacement key fob can be had from eBay for $45 shipped or even less, if you search well. Most come with a blank key and a battery already installed. Make sure to have the same type as your original remote (look for a remote ID number on the keyfob). Those numbers have to match, in order to be compatible with your car. Look for seller named artiway (Taiwan). I got mine from him; no problems, and quick delivery.

You will have to get the new key cut. My local Home Depot could not do it, due to lack of template for our particular key. An older, local hardware store, that cuts keys the old-fashioned way did it for me for $2.

Once you got the key cut, you will need to have the key programmed by either Infiniti or Nissan dealer. Some charge as much as $110 for it. Nissan is typically cheaper (as little as $30). You can also have it done for free, if you have a relationship, or ask nicely. Maybe get it done during a major service.

There are a few members that claimed that their remote's battery died, and once they replaced the battery, the keyfob did not function. The dealer might program it for free then.

Good luck.
