Any love for the First gen M45 / Gloria?

I don't know why, but I really like these cars. Yes, they didn't sell well and it was weird that it was only available here is the US for 2 years, but my father has taken an interest in these cars lately and I'd like to find out more about them.

Can anyone suggest any sites?

That gen M was out right around the time Infiniti started to get their wings and establish itself as a performance brand. They were down to G20, I30, Q45 and QX4 before that. I remember reading about how fast they were and how magazines were surprised how well they handled. At the time I thought they looked really cool, unique Japanese luxo styling (used to think the ole J30 and Toyota SC400 were incredible looking too). As much as I like them for being performance oriented and unique, I gotta admit they can look a little awkward these days with that strange rear overhang and thin trunk. More power to your dad if he's into the look though. Luckily for him, used second gen M's are CHEAP (although parts/maintenance might be a different story).

Not sure about any sites for them, there's probably more enthusiasts for the very 1st gen M (M30).

I think the reason I like it is because of the rear overhang. It has a bit of a last gen Thunderbird look to it, but it's cleaned up and MUCH better proportioned. I think my only gripe about the car is the dashboard. You can kinda tell it was an afterthought... the whole car was an afterthought for the US model.

Anyways, my dad didn't buy it. I pulled the carpet in the trunk and it looks like it was rear ended and not fixed properly. He's still on the hunt though. If they would've only made these with a manual, I'd probably driving one of them instead of my G.

Yeah, lack of manual transmission options pretty much rules out 99% of all potential cars for me. Even Nissan/Infiniti has narrowed the stick options down to a select few. Hope they never give the G 6MT the ax.

I thought I was the only one who thought they looked awesome. Theres a barely modded one around were I live, some rims and thats it probably. And it looks awesome.
If I were to get a project car, I'd love to play around with one of them.

I love them, moreso than the newer M! I'm on the lookout for one hopefully by the beginning of the year I should have one. I call it The Gotham because its a gangster car you'll see in the Batman cartoon, rear sharp angles to it.

I have always wanted one. I think it's one of the best looking sedans out there.

Modded out like that they do look quite gangsta, takes out all the quirkiness of the stock ones I see around.

Imagine it without the B-pillar? Or better yet coupe form with b-pillar deleted?
