one is chrome.. the other is polished. lol

The finish is different obviously as well as the clearcoat that is used.

 

Chrome is dipped making an almost mirror like finish. Polished is... well polished metal then clearcoated. Polished is also usually very reflective just not as much as chrome.

 

chrome = bling

 

Chrome is usually easier to take care of and maintain... but it can chip.

 

chrome plating also is heavier. By how much and if it really makes a difference....i don't know.

 

Polished lips don't necessarily have a clear coat.

 

polished are not perfect and the mirror like finish is just a tad bit duller. Chrome is more flashy. I like them both it just depends on what your doing and matching it to the car/taste.

 

polish usually gets dull over time and you'll have to repolish.. chrome stays shiny but is a tad heavier.. not enough to notice a difference though i would say..

 

chrome rusts if you don't take care of it in the salt months, polished don't, you can always repolish a polished lip yourself, chrome is kinda just ruined if it get's rusty though.

also, some chrome is better than others, cheaper wheels can rust in one season, while factory chromes usually are fine 5 years or more even with harsh winters, different brands are different qualitys of chrome too.

I like chrome cause it's more shiny & matches the other chrome too
