noob new wheel questions

i have a g35 with the sports wheel package but i'm thinking about buying some aftermarket wheels instead and have a few questions.

1. is it best to keep a staggered setup or go with the wider 18x8 rims all around?

2. what exactly is offset wheels? are they wheels where the rims aren't flush with the tire the way that the factory rims are? if i'd like offset wheels do they require any special spacers? do offset wheels compromise the ride or alignment?

3. what is the normal offset of the g? what offset are you guys using?

4. which wheel manufacturers do you recommend and which to avoid?

check out the stickies there.. and offset is a measurement of the center of the rim to the bolts I believe (i'm probably wrong lol) it has nothing to do with tires, that's stretched tires and depending on the width of the rim (8in or 9.5 or 11) you can go with 245-295 or whatever width tires depending on whether you want a stretched look or more protection for your lips

offset is how far the wheel sticks out, a higher offset means it sticks out less and a small offset means it sticks out more

for example the stock offsets from what i memeba is 33 and 30 in the rear so the rear sticks out just a lil more
