Not planning on selling the 6 piston set, but if you are interested in the 4 piston calipers, PM me.

This might be a silly question but i have start noticing (porcha, bmw, benz and even a car i saw on here) lot of brake systems and seem like now days that the rear bake is designed like the front brake (a lot larger).

Now the question is in order for that to work does the rear rotor have to be larger (for example like the one in the front)?

Just depends on what kind of brake bias they are designing. They might be using a smaller rear piston if the rear rotors are bigger (to balance out the bias). A larger rotor will help with the heat capacity of the braking system. But if you just add a bigger rotor, you also add more rotating weight onto your car.

I changed to Stoptech Street Performance pads. The original Ferodo pads were dusting too much for day to day driving. The Stoptech pads have better initial bite and less dust.

They don't make the stoptech pads for the brembo M calipers, but I found them for the brembo N calipers on zeckhausen.com. Both are 6 piston calipers, with the same pad length. But the N caliper pads are 5 mm taller for rotors with a taller friction area. Fortunately I had room on my rotors to allow for a taller pad.

Original pad size.

Compared to the new Stoptech N caliper pads (camera phone).

You'll notice less area on the rotor that doesn't contact the pads with the rust. Zeckhausen calls it the "ring of shame." That ring on the front is now smaller then the OEM brembo setup on the rear.

Calipers were $1750 picked up in Socal, rotors were $650 online, and the brackets cost me $330 to be made (had to design them myself). The 6 piston brembo GT kit is usually $3500 online.

The stoptech pads for the N calipers were $179. Pads aren't cheap for this setup, but they pads are huge. I'm glad that there are pads available that give a perfect fit onto these rotors. I need to get this car onto a track in 2011.

hey man, now that you've got some miles on your new stoptech pads, how do you like them in comparison to the stock brembo pads?

Chris, I like the stoptech pads much better for day to day driving. Better initial bite, about 75% less dust. Maybe the stock Ferodo pads need to heat up more to show their true potential.

I'm not sure if they make the Stoptech pads for your setup though, at least I couldn't find any source online for them.

that's good to hear, man. i would love a less dusty setup, especially with all the rain & mist we get up here. i'm going to call race technologies tomorrow or wednesday to see what other pad options they have.
