Painted my wheels and grille with Plastic Dip
So, I had the day off today and the weather was nice. I decided to paint my grille and wheels with Plastic Dip. I've been meaning to get a rear diffuser, so decided to paint that part too to see how it would look. We'll see how long it holds.

This is all three coats of Plastic Dip, plus two coats of Plastic Dip's Glossifier.

Yeah, I've thought about doing a black roof. Haven't decided what I'm doing with the tail lights yet, I kind of like how they look now.

Thanks fellow New Yorker!
I think I'm going to start with a gloss vinyl overlay first for the roof, don't want to do anything permanent right now. Will post pics when that's done.

Honestly, I was worried about using plastic dip on the grille, since that's where most of the rocks would hit when you're on the road, but it still looks great. It's holding up pretty good, just washed the car today and didn't see any damage on the grille, so Plastic dip is staying there for a while.
I'm really not a fan of the plasti dip mafia, lol, but that looks good. I think your painting ability has a lot to do with why I don't dislike it. IT looks like a quality job and not the shitty crap I'm used to seeing. Well done man. Keep us updated on how that holds up.
WOW! I'm so glad I found this thread. I have the same car. 2004 Red 2dr, and I've been wanting to do these mods exactly. Black OEM wheels, with painted rear valence/diffuser, and possibly a black front grill… This is perfect.
So, three coats of Plasti-Dip, and then two more coats of the Glossifier (??Not sure what that is, is it just a clear coat??) on everything - wheels, grill, diffuser??
Did you remove the grill to paint it?
So, after three months the Plasti-Dip doesn't show any signs of wear and tear yet?
Everything looks great! Good Taste!

If you want to keep the black accents you should think about painting your headlight housings matte black as well. You would be surprised at how much that can transform the look of the car
