OEM 19s I picked up yesterday. Pretty curbed up, rears need new tires too. Its all good though, gonna sand down all the curbage and then powdercoat them gloss black. I debated keeping them alloy color but for the theme I'm going for with my paint job... That won't work at all. Oh well, will post final product in a couple weeks.

After washing off all the salt yesterday... it rains. She is still sexy though. Its been too cold to paint the wheels so I'm waiting until it's warmer. Tail light 6/10smoked overlays and a gloss black roof overlay from BlueBat on the way.

Thank you sir. Smoked tails and roof overlay, finally get my AAM exhaust put on then get my Osiris Tune. Saving right now for BC coils and SPC camber kits. I have a mod list almost 50 items long... this car will be a money pit for a few years.

Heading North on 495 towards Greenbelt to go put in an order for my bday cake at my favorite bakery, when disaster strikes. I'm in the fast lane in pretty moderate traffic enjoying the drive when out of nowhere I see the profile of a huge big bird yellow truck sweeping across the freeway towards me. I instantly go into defensive driving. I drop my car into neutral, start trying to get onto the shoulder and braking as hard as I could all at the same time.
The black SUV next to me hits my front passenger side as she is being pulled into my lane by the trailer attatched to the yellow truck. I'm still braking, unable to think but I feel like I'm gonna slow down in time. Nope, the yellow truck comes arnd and smashes into the front of my baby bringing me to a screeching hault...

Never had an issue doing it. Been doing it for years when coming to a stop from high speed. Not sure if its good or bad. Just a habit I picked up from driving stick 1st... never really thought about it.

Actually, I just googled it and according to Ralph Seekins (mechanic and journalist with over 40 years in the industry) and many other sources dropping the car into neutral does help with braking and gives you better control over the wheels as you come to a stop. Something about removing the torque that would normally be applied to the car if it were in DRIVE. I didn't mean that I was "Neutral Dropping" putting the car in neutral to rev the engine then throwing it back into drive. I only ever put the gear into neutral when I knew I would be coming to a complete stop.
Sooooo... not so much fail after all. Lmao

how can putting it in neutral help with braking? if anything ur having to apply more braking with the lack of engine braking that helps to slow the car down while in gear. when ur in neutral at high speeds the car doesnt slow down for quite sometime compared to when its left in gear the engine helps to slow the car down quicker when there is no throttle
