I am really dessepointed in Q50 performance, I do not know does still cat-back will help the performance but mine 06 G35 6MT goes 0-60=5.4s and Q.50 goes 5.2-5.3s. C'mon i would expect for extra 30k for at least stock version below 5 sec.Why did not they installed turbo if they cannot squeeze from 3.7 350 hp at least? This is racing oriented brand, I do not see it at all?

 

It is pretty sad that Nissan never made any significant performance improvements since 2003. The IPL line was a complete joke and slightly offensive. Basically Infiniti has completely said f*ck it for performance and is just focusing on making pretty cars.

 

I don't believe that video for some reason. The loaner Q50 I had must have been modded. The Q50 hybrid is where it's at anyway.

In that video Q50 trap speed was 103mph.Is that a joke? The trap speed should be at least 110 mph.! I have seen G37 video trap speed 108mph- stock. The outlook is one thing but it will not take you in stars. MB has AMG, BMW has M5 and M3 and M4. Where is Infiniti top line version? My stock G35 06 is able also drive 13.8 1/4 mile. But BMW 335 stock takes 12.7? What is the matter with INFINITI. C.'mon INFINITI wake up from dreaming?????

BY the way even Alfa Romeo has brought into car market their newest version of ALFA ROMEO GIULIA that is V6 with twin turbo 515hp. This car moves and it is sedan, pretty fancy .
0-60 =3.9sec. That is whaT i AM WAITING FROM INFINITI?????

 

They should have dropped the VK56 in the Q50. At least its still in the Q70, but that thing is a whale now, especially since they made it longer.

 

I think the Q50 should run laps around the G35

I said it once, and i'll say it again.. Infiniti could make a 500hp Q50 if they wanted to..

Problem is... someone shopping for an Infiniti doesn't have $65k to burn on a performance sedan

Only reason people bought/buy G35/G37/Q50.. you can get a car almost as good as the upper level 3-series (not including the M3) for a price of bottom level 3-series.

I made this video a while back lol.

Since I drove both cars maybe I can shed some light on which car should have or could have won.

Before the race I thought my Q50 loaner was going to walk my G.
The Q50 "feels" faster hands down, it's a torquey fun car.
But in the end the G35 won, keep in mind it's a 6spd not an auto and that it's modded.

If a stock auto G35 raced a stock Q50, the G would get it's *** whooped.

I've raced a stock auto G35 with my modded 6spd G35 and I pulled like 6+ car lengths. Lol

Missing my G after watching this video.

 

I challenge any Q in SoCal to a race. Promise I'll beat you in an 1/8mi, 1/4mi or fwy race.
