Volks are finally on!!!
So… after nearly 5 month of anxiously waiting for the Volk, they are finally on the car!
Thanks to Temple City Auto – wheel & tire purchase & install, brake rotors, pads, SS lines, caliper painted all installed and alignment – great shop and great guys! (details about them in the So Cal Regional Forum)
OCAutoSports – In house drilled and slotted rotors + Hawk HPS pads and Technafit smoked SS line – excellent customer service and ridiculously great prices!!!
And our own GdupSedan (Grant) and ttrank (Tim) for their input, advice and question answering in helping me determine what setup to go with! I really appreciate you guys!
I have flat Volk center caps that have are not in place yet because I’m waiting on Infiniti logo graphics (I plan to get the traditional raised Volk caps too and do an Infiniti logo) – excuse the ugly cap-less holes in the pics
I went with 19 X 8.5 +35 with 245/40/19 all around… I wont bore you with reasons, but it was well researched and thought out – and is what works for my needs/desire… I understand many will think 35 series profile would look better and I somewhat concur – in fact I might get 35 and possibly stagger when these tires wear out.
As for braking, I haven’t put nearly enough miles on the car yet to know how good or bad what I went with is… but I will say if you chose any or all of this brake combo, give it 20-30 miles and proper break in procedure… initially, they were loud, gritty grindy, with lots of brake peddle pulsation… so much so that I was concerned and thought about putting OEM back on… that has gone away and thus far I am pleased… The brake setup I have now is purposely semi-budget minded… a more aggressive and stout brake setup will be down the road.
Okay – sorry for the rambling… here are some pics (the car and wheels are filthy, sorry)
*Edit - there were requests for angled pics to show the Kurukie bumper - they are in post #26

Love it..congrats
Edit...we need some shots from the front, at an angle please

Grant is going to do a photo shoot soon... my crappy photography will never do this (or any) car justice I'll post up angles from his pics...
Thanks for the suggestion on the caps - but I have a design in mind and can’t let go of it ... I'll waste money on 2 sets of caps to have a plan B (every project I've done, including this one has never ended in first plan anyway).
