Stupidity with lights and oven heh >< (pics)

So I slightly burned one of the covers on my lights because I forgot to take out one of the screws and therefore thought the silicone needed to be in the oven for longer than expected, luckily everything else about my painted lights and grille has come out awesome and I will be posting final pics once I finish up later on today, (with the burnt headlight cause I do need to be able to drive the car untill i can fix it). It was an experience and just what I've learned so far, its easy to do, but you really have to watch the oven (aka don't be stupid) and 2. it looks REALLY good once your done (even with a burnt light :P) so yeah I'm thinking about ordering a used LH 03/04 sedan light off e-bay and just baking the top off of it and baking that top back onto my painted light unless anyone here has a light/light cover that they're selling relatively cheap (I'd be willing to take a broken light i really just need the cover)
peace for now,
Travis

ps here are some pics:

To start with the screw up

Then the painted stuff

and the car without her face

on a side note I de-badged my G35 emblem and took out the red stripes on the reverse lights (there's a tarp on top but you can see it in this pic) I know it needs to be polished out, but my rear bumper has a pretty hefty scratch on the back from when I bought it used so I plan to get it painted anyways.

I love the look of the reverse lights w/o the strips. Much cleaner. I assume that was relatively simple to do? I'd love to paint my headlights too but that is definitely beyond me at this point.

Came out lookin good.

Too bad for the mishap but it happens. You didn't have the oven on broil instead of bake did you? Just curious. Glad you found some replacements already

What temp did you use? I have had mine in for ~20+ mins at 190-200 without anything like that.

There's actually a DIY on the lighting section, here's the link
https://g35driver.com/forums/body-in...e-removal.html

but yeah I had to make a makeshift pick to get it out, be extra careful not to scratch the light, and it is possible to get ALL of the red plastic out, just don't be afraid to pull hard once you get a grip on it with pliers
