Project blackout initiated
followed the DIY on this forum and painted my grill yesterday at the mod day in socal. Here are some pix

I chatted with E_K yesterday about retrofitting that baby...He gave me a few really resourceful pointers. I am thinking about attacking it myself........

I was never really a fan of the the blacked out grilles on a car that isn't black, but with the Nismo kit, a matte black grille fits in very nicely with the black underneath... Has anyone ever tried using a trim black paint instead?
I think it would look much better if it was color matched instead...

its either really flat......really glossy.....or in between. I'd just use primer/color coat/clear combo. I don't think the trim paint is made to withstand heavy abuse...and the grill will get all kinds of **** flying at it at freeway speeds....i'd be afraid to use anything not made for it.
