I just got caught up Mike. Can't wait to see it in person in September!
Don't remove them..it will leave a shadow and look recessed and stand out alot when looked upon dead on/side shot. Like you said, you have a darker color so it doesn't stand out like mine use too
^^^mine is rubber, and pretty flexible... I contemplated removing it all together (hoping the paint in the recessed gap would be visible enough to look like there is no gap... it doesn’t look that way, the gap is as big or bigger than the rubber strip.
Anyway, I choose to keep the strip - but I've seen it painted and like how it looks, so that’s a good option for those that choose it.

I agree about the rubber strip - I actually did remove them just to see how it would look (during the body work and with primer it looked good), but after paint you're right, the recessed gap does make it even more noticeable.

Thanks for the comments guys…
no, cant do it with an OEM bumper… yes, the one I have is fg, it’s the Kurookie (slightly modified)… the flared fenders ad just under an inch… I could probably get 20-25mm wider in the front, a little less in the rear… I’m not sure if I will get new wheels with more aggressive offsets or just run spacers/adapters.
I planned to get some good pics during photo shoot and update first post with them… but who knows how long it will be for good pics… so eventually I’ll try to get some time to take some pics of my own and post up.

Since you like running aggressive wheels, you might want to consider wide body (and not just flared fenders)... I wasn’t going to do anything with my wheels - but they are a little too sunken in; even with the mild flare... I got 25mm spacers - but they are about 5mm too big (for me) - with -1.5 in front, they are fine until I have a passenger, then they rub a little... there is a faint crack that I am having fixed this week... I now have to run -2.5 until I can get different spacers - or find the right wheels.
Had a photo shoot with Grant last Monday - so I'll have better pics to post soon.
What are you thinking of doing?

Ooooh, nice. Can't wait to see the pics.
I am considering a widebody, I just don't know how much more it will cost as opposed to a molded fender flares.
I wanted to do a molded bumper with the quarter panel just like you did, didn't think about the side skirts, that looks gorgeous. I want to do a more aggressive trunk lip and probably have a little piece of the body slightly cover the tail light so the lip doesn't just cut off at the trunk, rather it continues onto the quarter panel over the lights. Another thing I'll be doing is going with dual projector fog lights in the bumper, by dual, I mean a pair in each vent. I'll probably have to go with 2.5" ones though. For now, those are the plans, but I really don't know when they will happen. Maybe once the city's budgets get better.
