Mike, coming from that civic scene (not myself but everyone I knew and my brothers friends) it really isn't a comparison as to cut springs and wrong wheels.

Fitment now IS a math, a lot of us don't just buy wheels and and slam them on the car and be like oh **** that broke my **** now I need to stretch and pull 10 inches. We buy the wheels with the right offset for our cars. We're not just guessing and slapping **** together. Back in the day, that is what everyone was doing. But you didn't have nearly as many companies offering custom offsets or the right sizes. Volk for one, has just recently become less dumb about their wheels and are offering a wider range of offsets. I remember 6 years ago Volk wasn't offering **** in 19s or 20s and when they did they were still +50 on an 8 (unless you go hella JDM and get into the decade old VIP scene, then you had your negative offsets, but on VIP style wheels) (see Victrix)

A lot of us on here are coming from the style stand point of camber and low offsets. Japan gave up the ***** mobile racer scene before we ever saw it and quickly moved onto the VIP scene, Japan is still there with it and we're just catching on in the last 3 or 4 years. Most of us, don't use cheap parts, and the civics back then DID.

And IMO, that's the defining line. We do **** right.

that's exactly what I said... the trend "started" for reason stated (it wasnt for style back then)... and in fact, even cutting springs would cause excessive camber...

I fully realize these days the specs chosen are purposeful (just like the anology that for a while people purposely bought baggy pants, even though that trend started for reason other than style)... I'm simply stating that the trend started for reasons that had nothing to do with style.

Its a phase and like many things it will pass (except for the kids that buy wrong size because of price, that will probably never go away).

It's funny how much money it takes to make a car look like it has the wrong parts on it.

Ohhh then yea, I agree.

As much as I love pokage and stretchiness, I still think flushness is ace.

What do you think guys? Keep my current wheels or go with these? (18x10 +25 XXR521) I'm digging the mesh much more than the 5 spoke, but i have a feeling i'll get sick of the flat black REAL quick!

Either way, i'll be putting 225/40's on the front. These pics are with 225/40's, i think it looks much better than the 215/45 (too much sidewall)

Yes. I have 10mm spacers up front and 15's in the rear. I'll prolly go down to a 10 in the rear as well. my 9.5 +10 only has 2mm clearance a 10 +10 is a 9.5 +4
