You seriously put 5-7 coats of clear? That's a lot of solvent. What brand of clear? I use DuPont chroma base and the factory pack of clear in a quart is 70-80 bucks. Cheapest paint I will use is nason. DuPont clear is about 250-300 a setup if I remember.

i use different brands depending what my hookups have
ive seen paint from factory mess up withing 2-3 years
i dont know if you have your shop or something were u need permits
my stuff aint top of the line, but its alot cheaper and last almost the same amount of time
we paint in a paint booth but we dont use the ducts and stuff cuz we get finned so every time we paint something we have to polish it and remove all the over spray
i know people that get charged 2-3k to paint their car and 2 weeks later the paint chips off everywere

doesnt matter how its done
comes out clean, last longer than most shops with permits
have never had anyone complain to me because the paint started flying off in the freeway
and im not charging 1k for a quarter panel...
some dude hit my car in the back 2 months ago only cracked the paint and they gave me $700 cost me less that $100 to fix
i charge 80-100 for each part 50 for the blend

IMO, fenders still look a bit wavy. I'd smoothen them out some more before painting.

the only part that aint straight is the edge of the fender since i cut my fenders
ima grind it flat once its ready to paint cuz i dont want it to get rusted
but the outside were the dip was is completely smooth
