...Marcus, I just noticed from the vid... why haven't you ditched your hood release sensor thingy? It's really easy to get rid of and cleans that corner of the engine bay nicely.

I'm not aware that you can get rid of that. Doesn't it serve a purpose that is needed? I haven't seen other cars remove that part, but maybe I just never noticed.

My hood sensor has been severed for a while been meaning to yank it off lol

I haven't had mine in months!

I believe it's supposed to set off the factory alarm if the hood gets opened while the car is locked... but really, if somebody has got that far, setting off the factory alarm isn't gonna do much

If you just unplug it and tuck the wire and plug up under the fender, the factory system ignores it. And you can always plug it back in and remount it later, if needed.

With all of the parts in my engine bay (and everyone knows exactly what is in there) I would really like for that alarm to go off.

Well, technically, you could use another much more compact style of switch, hide it up beside the hinge, and run the wire up there... It would be a bit of work, but you'd be the first person to get rid of that part and keep the functionality!
