Once you get your bay blinged out and cleaned it takes no time at all to keep it clean. Just wipe down with a damp rag followed by a dry rag to polish and you're done. Also, you might want to look at the R2C intake. It seals against the hood and doesn't have the heatsoak issue like a pop charger etc. I bought a pop last summer and sold that **** in 4 weeks because the summer heat in Texas KILLED my power. No issues this summer with the R2C. Gas mileage is good as well and it looks damn good.

For the dip stick I would sand down the yellow tip ad spray high temp primer. After that I would just paint any color you want with high temp paint. I did that to motor and it came out great! This might be over kill for the dip stick but at least it'll last a long long time in the heat.
