All three of are us were lowered and had no problems. It was a pretty empty day, seemed like we were the only ones there. Spent most of the time drifting until the end when a Ranger told us it wasn't allowed.

that looks like a lot of fun. Just a quickie, the tape you put on is supposed to act as a bra right?

From all that I know... drifting is discouraged. Or too much drifting... We usually do speed runs and photography, and a few slides for pictures. Keep in mind that you need to respect "mother nature." That lake bed is made by nature and is not maintained. So tearing it up too much will just make it crappy for others, and ultimately dangerous... don't want to hit a big rough patch at 140mph.... or even at 40mph if you are riding on one of these:

Also keep in mind that El Mirage has "seasons" and that it actually floods in the winter, that water is what resurfaces the lake bed every spring. The fall is when it is the roughest.

BTW.. that tape is very funny... looking back, did you need it? The dust at el mirage is so fine, I think you have much higher risk of a nick on the highway than there.

The tape was mostly for the few small rocks that were on the lake bed, even though there wasnt many of them, I did feel a few while while driving. As for respecting nature, you are right. I didnt know that drifting wasnt allowed, but once the ranger told us we were happy to stop.

There are tons of videos on You tube... It is after all, one of the big land speed raceways close to the level Bonneville (just a lot smaller).

Here is a video that I did a while ago, before I had the G35, when I was driving my old turbo beetle...

Keep in mind a few things... Daniel and I do commercials, and we focus on car commercials. So while this video is "honest," it may make it look more exciting then it really is out there. It is hot, and dry, and if you want to go fast, you need to shut your windows and turn off your AC... We are really just looking for "shots" of cars.

Since this is a nissan/infiniti forum... here is something relevant:

And if you need a reminder of what "at your own risk" means...
