GT Spec Rear Chassis Brace Pics

Hey guys. Just installed a GT Spec lower rear chassis tie-brace that I got from Riverside on my car last night. It's a really easy istall... only took about 20 minutes (15 minutes of that was just getting the car up on jack stands). Here are some before & after picks.

What is the purpose of this thing and how much did it cost?

It is designed to connect the inner mounting bolts on the left and right lower control arms to help prevent chassis and suspension flex under heavy cornering loads. Beasically, it should help stiffen up the rear end and minimize geometry changes during cornering, simliar to how a front chassis brace stiffens the front end.

I got it from Riverside Infiniti and it was well under $100 (under $90 if I recall). Just PM Rick@RiversideInfiniti and ask him the price, and make sure to let him know you are on g35Driver sp he knows to give you the discount.

Why does the mount side look grinded down?

The end pieces are actually cut on an angle like that (it allows you to be able to use an open end socket on the bolts rather than being forced to have to use a deep-well socket)... They were definitely cut before the piece was powder coated, so they are not bare.. I think they only appear to be a different color in the picture because of the way the flash from the camera is reflecting off the cute surface. It is actually a really nicely made piece. It is made of oval tubular aluminum, so it is VERY strong, and it only weighs a tab over 8 oz, so it is Very light as well.

You guys are meeting on Turkey Day?!?!

I actually have my Sister and one of her firends visiting, otherwise I'd be up for it.

You have yours on yet? If so, what are your driving impressions?

I just took my car to get the windows tinted this morning, but honestly I couldn't really tell a difference with the rear brace on. Although, it was mostly highway driving and the roads were wet from the rain, so I couldn't really "play" with it much.
