Not really. I have a set of $800 17" tires on my wheels already. By the time you factor in the labor to reinstall or reprogram the tpms sensors, selling the old wheels and tires and buying the replacements and then I'd still end up with the bright wheel color and design that's no more appealing than the current one. Trust me, I thought this through. If I were to go that route, I'd choose the M45 design over any of the stock G wheels any day.

 

Looks good man.. I have a PG x and did something similar.. I went with black but yours is pretty dope.

 

the 18"s are so much better looking! did they take the tires off to do the wheels or keep them on?

 

Nah, I wasn't too fond of them on the Maximas and now even the Mustang has just about the same wheel option as the G's 18". To each their own, I guess.
The tech broke the front bead and pushed the tire back on each wheel to gain access to the entire lip area to properly repair and spray it. Because the tire didn't rotate on the wheel and was reseated in the same position, no balancing was necessary afterwards.

 

How did you bake the wheels with the tires on then?

Yes, the wheels were baked with the tires pushed back from the front bead. It is a very common procedure, similar to an entire car baking in a paint booth. Although I'm not sure what temperature baking is done at, I heard that rubber doesn't melt until about 1200F.
