There's a sizable difference, as the Ray's are forged and the OEM's are cast.

Here are a few pictures of my car with the G37 19's. I was trying to make the same decision about the rays.

Those g37 sport rims look good with the color of our cars. I definitely am liking it after seeing some pics. They flow better than the Rays. Are they lighter than the Rays though? Looks like they'd be heavier.

Anyone got IPL's on their 2nd gen sedans? I have yet to see a set on a 2nd gen PG sedan. Or an LP sedan could give me a good idea as well =)

I am loving the input here guys.

Yeah, I've been at the same cross-roads before.

The G37 19" Sport wheels are made by Enkei, they are cast aluminum. And as much as people may think they look good, they are pigs. You can't even compare them to Rays Forged Wheels.

Enkei

OEM 19" 10 spoke G37 Sport wheels & tires

Front:
Wheels: 19"x8.5". Cast aluminum. Made for Nissan/Infiniti by Enkei. Weight: 26.5 lbs. Bolt pattern 114.3 x 5 Offset +43

Rear:
Wheels: 19"x9". Cast aluminum. Made for Nissan/Infiniti byEnkei. Weight: 27.5 lbs. Bolt pattern 114.3 x 5. Offset +45

Rays Coupe Wheels

Front:
Size: 19x8.0. Forged Aluminum. Offset: +30mm Weight: 19 lbs

Rear
Size: 19x8.5. Forged Aluminum. Offset: +33mm Weight: 21 lbs

As you can see the Enkeis are almost 8lb heavier than the Rays. So you are adding 32lb, let me mention that again, 32lb of un-sprung weight. You might as well put a boat anchor on your car. If you do not like the look of the Rays coupe wheels, Rays make a bunch of decent looking nismo oem wheels too.

The Rays look good, but only on a dropped car. I would have gotten them had they been wider.

so what exactly does this do in effect of handling acceleration etc?
EDIT: In reference to the added unsprung weight

Thanks, this is what I need. Now I need to find how much does the OEM 18" G36S wheels weight and see if there is any weight saving to that.

Although it seems they might have switched F --> R

Unsprung weight has a correlated ratio of 8:1 to curb weight.

32lb increase in unsprung weight is a 256lb increase in curb weight.

So running the new Enkeis vs the older Rays is like driving around constantly with your 250lb friend sitting in your passenger seat.

Hence why people go into strict detail of over unsprung weight, its quite critical, 2pieces rotors, forged wheels, light weight lugnuts, etc, the benefits are dramatically amplified.

What alot of people don't know is that the V36 07-08 18" sport enkei is actually a Rotary Forged wheel using Enkeis MAT technology, which the V36 19" enkei coupe wheel isn't, hence the really low weights. You can actually see the MAT stamping mark on the inner spoke.
