For you guys running the Rays, did you use your factory lugs that came with your V36? Or did you have to use a diff type of lug?

Factory lugs should work on al of them considering they are all OEM rims They worked on the 370z rims

You need to look at what type of seats the rims have. I thought they were a 60* conical taper (which IS NOT compatible with the stock V36 lugs), but I'm not positive about it, so definitely verify before you drive it.

SOrry, but this is complete misinformation and it could lead to some serious consequences. Just because they worked on 370Z rims means NOTHING!

Thanks for the input guys. Picked up a set on Saturday and I'll be taking them to a tire shop to have them balanced and installed. We'll see what they say.

Well, if they are indeed a 60* taper (which I'm pretty sure they are), then you're not going to get any reputable shop to install them for you if you intend to use the stock V36 lugs. It's all good to have them look at them and verify it for you, but be quite prepare to NOT have them installed until you get some new lugs.

Guy that sold'em to me said they were in perfect shape. Not so. Had to drive quite a bit to get them, so didn't want to come home empty handed. Next time I'm bringing a bucket of water with me and a brush lol

Hence why people go into strict detail of over unsprung weight, its quite critical, 2pieces rotors, forged wheels, light weight lugnuts, etc, the benefits are dramatically amplified.
Yep, I'm not sure about that exact ratio, as there's lots of them tossed around, but the higher ones seem to factor in the net effect of the additional influence of rotational mass, which tends to resist a change in acceleration, thus yielding the characteristics of much higher additional weight. Greater rotational mass directly decreases your car's acceleration, deceleration, and turning rates (all technically count as acceleration in physics). Basically, it makes your car feel fat and lazy.

I just read from the new R&T, they did a test with FRS. putting better rims and tires on it. i don't have the copy with me but if I remember correctly ...

the stock 17" with better tires has the best time. with a upgraded light weight 18" (which is lighter than stock) the car is actually slower around the track, but offer better grip (more tires on the ground).

they mentioned something about the weight of the rim is distrubted more to the outside and ended up slowing the car down on acceleration

Guys I have a G35x (AWD) and I have coupe 19 inch rims. I heard its bad to put on rims that is wider for the rear on a AWD vehicle that I am more likely to blow a differential, I want to make sure before putting them on just in case. Is this true? can someone prove or dis prove this?
