Thumbs down Dealer Review - Service Dept - Major Infiniti - Kansas City, MO

Problem #1: Scheduling for an appt is a week out. Is this the Doctors office?
I called my local dealer for my 30k service, and they set me up for an appointment a week later. Nice scheduling..

Ok, so I schedule it on a day where I don't have to pick up my son after work (car seat issues)

Problem #2: Can't get the car done on time.
They call me and tell me that my car is not going to be ready on time, and to keep my loaner car. The next day I have to pick up my son and now I don't have a car seat, if it were done on time, it would have been in my car, but my loaner has no child seat of course. So on the day I'm supposed to have my son, I have to make his grandma pick him up, and it eats about 1.5 hours off of my time with him because I needed to go pick up my car after work (This could have been done the day before if they would keep their appointments). You'd think that since I was a week out when I called, that they'd have everyting caught up, otherwise, why not just schedule me for any old day..

Problem #3: Scrapes on my aftermarket wheels.
Now I get my car dropped off and explain to them that my car was bought with the aftermarket wheels that i have on there, and I didn't get the "key" for the lug nuts, but I need to rotate my tires. They say they can "cut off" my old lug nuts, and I have a new set of keyed lug nuts and the key in my trunk.

Here's the deal, when they cut off the lug nuts, they scraped the wheels up pretty good with the drill head....

What can I do?

Why didn't they point this out to me? pretty dishonest if you ask me.

Problem #4: Rattling from rear end.
I also hear a rattling coming from the car too, and the car feels like they dialed in a little oversteer. You see, they also had to take off my stillen sway bars and magna flow cat-back to get to a fuel line that they had to replace under a recall (or service bulletin).

Problem #5: Loose Rear End and/or a little extra oversteer.
Now they took apart my rear sway bar, so you they might have caused my car to drive different if they put it back wrong, or had it been an adjustable sway bar they could have put it back at a stiffer setting. Upon initially driving it, it seemed as though the rear end would spin out MUCH more than usual, even with VDC turned on. I immediately went back and claimed that my car felt a little loose, which leads me to Problem #6.

Problem #6: The service boy says a rear sway bar won't affect the way a car drives.

The service boy said that I wouldn't notice any difference in the way my car drove without my rear sway bar attached. WHAT THE F*CK?!?! that's the most ubsurd thing I've heard from any dealer yet. Does he think a guy with those mods doesn't know any better?

What should I do about this dealership?

Major Infiniti absolutely sucks. What do you expect from a bunch of transplants from their adjacent Cadillac store? Too bad they're the only dealer in town too.

They probably won't fix the wheel because you lost the lock so "they had to do what they had to do". As for the sway bar, let it back to a softer setting. Also, check tire psi and if the tread is wildly different. All this can account for funky handling.

As for the child seat, I take all my crap with me because those guys are never done on time.

it turns out the rattle was my muffler mounting bracket missing a bolt...

friggin idiots..

they offered to paint my wheels, but I don't want them touching my car anymore, so I declined.

and the technician said the sway bar was not adjustable, I got under the car and sure enough, it was 3 way adjustable...but it was already on the softest setting. I wish I knew what setting it was on prior to the servicing.

My (now front) tires are nearly ready for replacement, so that might have a lot to do with the car driving different than it used to. - seeing as they rotated them..

Oh and my review:

I called my local dealer for my 30k service, and they set me up for an appointment a week later. Nice scheduling..
true, they do take about a week, but they are the only dealership in the area, so that is understandable.

Problem #2: Can't get the car done on time.
Never had this problem, they have had my car done before they said it would be every time.

Problem #3: Scrapes on my aftermarket wheels.
They scraped my stockers also, didn't complain.

Problem #4: Rattling from rear end.
Didn't have it serviced

Problem #5: Loose Rear End and/or a little extra oversteer.
See above

Problem #6: The service boy says a rear sway bar won't affect the way a car drives.

Haha, they aren't paid to know stuff, they are paid to turn wrenches and follow an instruction manual, not that some aren't more knowledgeable than others...
