Sad day - I went UnModded...

Hey all,

I took off my grounding kit and Stillen and Z-tube yesterday and went back to bone stock because of issues I'm having with my vehicle! The engine would "get stuck" at around 2200-2400 RMP and not go higher occasionally. Just ask MyG35ZX. He was in my car when it happened. I was thinking it was my MAF that went bad or got dirty but after disassemmbling it yesterday, there was no oil or gunk inside it. I did have a bad belt because my AC compressor was out of alignment. The belt frayed and sent belt dust throughout the engine compartment. The Stillen filter had a lot of black dust from the fraying on it and I'm wondering if the problem I was having came from that dust going through the K&N and passing over the MAF? Now that I'm back to stock, I haven't had a problem and no sticking of the engine. If it continues to go without problems, I'm good! If not, back to the dealer it goes! I was a little sad taking off my mods but I would much rather have a car that runs right all the time than one that I couldn't even have fun with and get on it without having to worry about it sticking!

Sad story. Sorry that you are having all of the problems. I hope that running stock takes care of all of the problems. Keep us posted.

Re: Sad day - I went UnModded...

I did ECU resets and hoped that would solve the issue but all I had to do was turn the car off for 10 seconds, restart it and I was good to go until I mashed the gas again. So far the past two days no issue. I plan to stay stock through the summer and winter and if all goes well, get a new K&N cone for my Stillen and maybe try it again next spring. That way, if any issue does arise, I'll be stock and I can take it to the delaer and be covered!

Than ks for support. I'll keep you all posted!

Chip....Sounds like you need a supercharger to cheer you up. Don't worry about your son's college fund, your car needs you right now!

That is a great suggestion. A supercharger will make all the sadness go away.
