MN G/Z GRAND FINALE MEET of 2oo9 - SEPT. 26th
VARY NAYCE!!! I heard (by a detail shop, so not sure if reliable this advise is!) that if you use the orbital and you don't much experiance, you can burn through some of the paint. Expecially on the edges! I'm really tempted to buy an orbital though cuz i can imagine it'll cut the time of waxing by a lot. Let alone I'll have the option to polish later!

You definitely DEFINITELY have to know what you're doing and practice a LOT before you use it on a car like your G.
If oyu get a random orbital buffer, its pretty damn impossible to burn through clear coat.
Try a Porter Cable. Just the entry model. Thats what i have.
All waxing does it hide swirls and they will eventually come back. A buffer and a polish is what you will need to break down the marks and make your paint clear.

Lake Nokomis at 10am.
We'll figure out the rest from there. No rush since we can just chill out for a while. If it's raining, we can always drive over to Ikea or the Mall.
I have never used a machine to wax my cars. My arms are good enough. Car still looks new and feels smooth as a Brazilian wax job.

So you guys use the random orbitals more for waxing and not polishing? this makes since because if the wax takes care of most the swirls for 3 to 4 weeks, then i'd rather do that than sand down the clear coat! I did hear that the orbitals are nice for waxing cuz they take the wax off very easily, which i guess the harder part?!?!?!?! Well, i'll try to wax my car tonight cuz i'm busy tomorrow, and if not, i'll have to wait till Sunday! We'll see
You have it all wrong.
The polish is what breaks down scratchs and swirls.
Most people dont orbital buff wax on. i just do it by hand.
Take it off with a MF towel and your acr.

Yup I hand wax my ride, I've only used an orbital when using polishing compound. Hand waxing usually works fine, it just takes a while and your arms will get tired haha
My hands are very happy about that decision.
