ok, how about we all go on a weekend. i know that's proably when i will end up going because my brother will be back from college for the weekend and he wants to join. either saturday 2/12 or 2/19? i'd prefer the earlier date because the cars will be in decent shape before all the people destroy them
anyway, let me know if anyone wants to meet up prior to going to the show.

I see you're all thinking of the 12th or 19th, Saturdays. Well, The 12th my son is taking the ACT exam and I've got a Jeep Liberty in bad need of an oil change and a head of hair that needs some trimming. The 19th I've got a Boy Scout campout in Elgin so that's out for me. I was actually thinking of going on Sunday the 13th if I was going to go at all. With me it might be a last minute thing because of my crazy schedule. If you all go on the 12th, what time would you be looking at? The only thing I could possibly see arranging that day is going mid-afternoon and then maybe grabbing a bite of dinner downtown somewhere?

Anyone up for that?

well, my brother and i went to the auto show today (yesterday by the time i'm typing this message) and i have to say - it kinda sucked. nothing new really other than a few concept cars. they didn't even have 05 g35 6mts.
i wanted to see 3 cars and was able to see only 1 (the new vette 500hp)
the other 2 - new manual g and vw tourag tdi (twin turbo v10) weren't there
but i guess i can't complain cuz i got the tickets for free.
i hope you guys have better time at the chicago auto show.
let me know if anyone wants to see pics. i can post them tomorrow.

I had a great time at the Chicago Auto Show.
International: Get out of my way you little Hummer or you will be squished!
Toyota: last MR2, no Supra coming soon, uber cool FXCruiser
Honda: large pick-up truck to gain US automaker largest market share -can you spell world domination?
Nissan: 350Z Anniversary Edition=Track+Touring Model in metallic yeller
Jaguar: ZZZZ
Mitsubishi: Evo8MR needs better interior trim, what's that in the rear of the roof?
Jeep: Hurricane concept-Awesome, Gladiator pick-up
Mazda: no RX-7, same Miata, RX-8 in deep plum -barf
Ford: tons of Mustangs tuned, GT is cooler in person, GR1 body not fully polished OK
Subaru: STI US rally racer in show
Hummer: now in Small, Medium, and old Large
Cadillac: STS-V & CTS-V, the convertible looks cool too
Chrysler: Firepower was their best by far, 300C
Dodge: new Viper hardtop
Chevrolet: Z06 and LeMans racer side by side -drooled here
Lexus: LFA concept 200mph with F1 inspired V-10 or V-8
Porsche Carrera GT -need I say more?
Infiniti: no G35 6MT or 5AT w Sport Package, M35 & M45 OK
Audi: S4 is nice
Acura: NSX is getting old, can't they put a V8 in it?
Mini: Cooper S w Rally Ed looks nice -an original with a V-tec engine would be better
Superformance: Cobra & Daytona Coupes were gorgeous, great to get into historic racing
Noble: TwinTurbo Ford Duratec engine 2500lbs track rocket -I want one too!
Lotus: easy to get into if roofless, hard when roof is in. Celica engine? Get the Noble.
Lamborghini: Forget the Gallardo, it's the Murcielago by a landslide!
Mercedes: McLaren is the modern 300SLR interpretation. Cartoonish but stupid fast!
Ferrari: 430 & 575 Maranello -Mental Calculus: sell the 3 cars, sell home, abandon wife & kid, sell my kidneys and sell my soul to the Devil!
I was able to get into all the cars above. I had one hell of a time with my kid!

Behind the Lotus, across the Mazdas: They had a Gallardo and a Murcielago!

they were in the other concourse. they actually opened up an additional 40% more space and had some great cars there, including a black Porsche Carrera GT! this is where the Infiniti display was too. the new M sedan looked really nice.
