New Minnesota Sedan X Driver

Just checking in, I finally got my G35x!!! I am installing the grounding kit this afternoon, I will take some pics of the new ride and post here later...

Just wondering if there's any sort of Squad up in the Mid-West??? Maybe we could setup a meet?

Man it's gonna be 50 today! Gonna cruise the lakes ha ha a, maybe not...

My wife's got the digital, so I will post pic's soon. The install wasn't too bad, got the kit from z-xtreme, very friendly service and showed up promptly.

I have an 04' G35x, and I drove this all in Tiptronic mode:

Prior to the kit I drove a route of about 12 miles, keeping in mind all of the different aspects that I encountered, this route had many points where acceleration, flat out was easy to measure. So....

After the kit.... which took about an hour and half to install. As I was driving the route the first thing I noticed was around 4k RPM, when I drove it hard I noticed that it didn't want to let up like it did prior... so a definite improvement beyond 4k.

Overall, I would say the car is more 'alert', meaning it seems to shift a bit better, idle a bit better, and like I said the upper rpm's were a definite benny~ Hay for 89 bucks, this isn't a bad mod at all! I recommend it! I will update as I notice more things!

Too freakin bad we have speed limits, I was 80 and the thing wanted to just take off!!!! I LOVE MY G!!!

Now on to other mod's....

Thanks for the report, appreciate it. I am considering a grounding kit for one of my future mods.
I know what you mean about speed limits, that is the one problem with the G, it loves speed, and I don't need any tickets. I have to start using cruise cause every time i look down at the speedo I am exceeding the speed limit in the double digits. My wife is constantly giving me the LOOK or poking me to slow down. BUT, she has admitted that it is hard for her also to keep the speed down.

The G absolutly loves to sit at 70 miles an hour.... I always look down and that's what I'm doing.... Allies, driveways etc...

I'm paying 76 bucks a month for Insurance(don't need a ticket either), which is a bit higher then I thought, but I've seen some G's missing their lights on this site, so I can imagine that doesn't help... not that it's their fault!!!(always must be clear, it seems you **** someone off no matter what you say)

I would get the mod, it's pretty much a no brainer IMHO. Some would argue otherwise, but for the $$$ it's great!

hehe, I wish I knew, It is in my trunk. where I put it a few weeks ago when I got it from GSM. I started to put it on one night when I got it and I got peeved off trying to do it in the blowing snow . I have no garage so now I have been waiting for the warmer weather. I also figured I would wait till my 1st oil change cause I was gonna check with the dealers views with it. I know there should not be any problem, but I figured ask first.

That's true, you aren't that far... Eeek though, bit too cold! Talk about the pot calling the eh, however that saying goes. OH well , guess I will just have to spend quality time with those VW drivers... (the wife has a Jetta, buddy has a Passat) Not that there is anything wrong with German Engineering.... :=)

I live in MN and drive a G coupe, black on black, sport&susp package. No Navi though. I haven't really had a chance to do any mods yet, waiting till the weather warms up here, but still love the car, even in the snow, although keeping it clean nowadays is a pain!! Where do you guys live, I'm in Richfield...

Any stats you would like to share? I have been working with vortech on getting the AWD SC system... Sounds like it'll be ready in 3-4 weeks!
