I need some recommendations for a good place to get some tinting done in SE Michigan. Any of you MI g owners had your windows done? Let me know. Thanks!

 

There is a place in Auburn Hills that installs the Uber Optik. However, they are charging over $500 for the job. I called Huber Optik and they even said that is way over their MSRP. Sadly, they are the only clowns in town. Check Huber Optik's website and they will give you the telephone number...

Did you tint the driver and passenger windows? Have you had any problems with getting pulled over? I've seen people with even the windshield tinted, but I don't know what kind of problems they have with the police.

 

It depends in the city in which you live. I live in Plymouth and it is a pretty clean town. I am sure if I had a beat-up mustang with 22% tinting all the way around, I would be pullled over pretty fast. However, the G35 is a pretty car and generally gets attention due to it beauty and not the level of tint.

 

Check out First Class Auto in Livonia. They're down of Plymouth Rd, near Farmington.

A friend of mine takes all of his cars there for tinting. Don't know what their prices are like, though, so you might want to call first and see.

Ressurecting this thread.... I'm looking for a good window tinting place in either the Dearborn, Troy, or Sterling Heights areas (or very close to any of these).

The place I had my Camaro done at did a great job but they've either moved or no longer doing business.

Also would welcome some suggestions about what type and % of tint. My G is Athens Blue.

I had my G tinted 35% in front (sans windshield) and 5% in back at Notorious Tints on Merriman Rd just south of Schoolcraft/ I-96. It cost $200 and they did an alright job. I have noticed a few small spaces in the back passenger side window where it looks like they did not cut the film as precisely as they should have. I live in Iowa now and I've been pulled over for the tint twice but haven't received any fix-it tickets yet fingers crossed. They offer insurance for like $40 where they'll fix the tint if you get a fix-it ticket and you need to have it redone.
