FINALLY got my G after all this time, now i feel i belong!
hey guys,
i finally got my G this past weekend. i have wanted a G ever since it came out, however, i was still in college and didnt have the money for it. been working for the past couple of years and have finally saved up some money to buy myself a BIG gift for my Bday (just incase u wannaknow, its 6/17..hehe..almost there..if u want to send me a bday gift, PM me
)
some of you may remember, i have been looking for an 05 IP G35C 6 speed. it's def. not an easy combo to find. i want mine to have all options without Nav, and obvoiusly, i was looking for an used one with low miles. i thought about the 06, but its still quite expensive and the new aero package just dont do it for me..(however, i do like the headlights tho..the only "upgrade" i really care for on the 06).
i guess good things happen to those who wait :> long story short, i originally found one in Infiniti of Tysons Corner with 12000 miles on it selling for $30000. i test drove it on a friday and went home to think about it. however, when i called back on monday, the salesman told me it was sold already.
just when i gave up on looking for one and decided to wait for the 06 lil later, i came across aonther IP G, exactly the way i want it, and with only 5560 miles. it was sold at BMW of Fairfax. i bought it this past saturday for $30000. it was listed for $33000. it was traded into BMW less than a week ago (the guy traded it in for a 5 series). i think it was a fair deal. i prob could have talked it down a lil more but i just didnt want to sit there all day for it. so i came to the # that i felt i was confortable with and the dealer was willing to give..you guys think its pretty fair price?
the car drives new, smells new, and is in almost perfect condition. there are a few lil things such as a lil stain in the cup holder, a very tiny chip on side of the front bumer, and a few small rock chips on the front bumper, which is pretty normal. i told them i want it all fixed and detailed, so im taking it back to BMW next week to get it all done along with putting on clear-bra and lo-jack. i got the clear bra (covering bumper, front side of the hood, and both side mirrors) and lo-jack w/early warning system for $1000 total. is that a good deal?
sorry to make this post sooo long. but im really excited to finally got something i have wanted for so long and cant wait to share it with everyone here.
as for my driving impression, this car is very easy to drive. the power is there, but its not something you would feel nervous about (couldnt say the same when i test drove a Viper SRT-10 a while back, that was scary). the car handles VERY well and very stable on the highway. the ride is a little bumpy and loud, but it's understandable with it been a sporty coup w/ 19in wheels, performance tires, and sport suspension. i have driven my friend's E46 M3 numerous times and the G ride feels a lil softer. M3 obvoiusly handles very well, but the ride is VERY unconfortable especially when the road gets bumpy.. im very impressed with this car and will continue to explore the power and handling of it when i get a chance (dont worry, i dont street race.. just occasional fun on winding roads and whatnot).
the car does not have any clicking or rattling noise that i have experienced in the other G that i was looking at in Tysons. i dont know if cuz mine is newer with less mileage ..but knocking on wood those things dont happen to me. if so, guess i have to stop by an Infiniti dealership.
the only complain i have on the car is i still cant get totally confortable with the seats. im still adjusting to find the most confortable seating position. im used to laying back more and kinda thugish driving..lol. i dont ACT like that, but im just used to laying back more when i drive. but for some reason, this sports seats dont feel confortable if i do that. i have to have my back up straight with the seat in order to feel right. so weird. anyone has that problem? how you fix that?
btw, to those who lives in NOVA area, which Infiniti dealership is the best to take my car to for service or warranty work?
also, my tire pressure light has been on this whole time. i did a little research on the forum. i checked my tire presure, its all 38lb (which i believe is the listed recommended pressure). could it be bad sensor? or what?
i guess i'll have to take it in to the dealership to get it checked out. hopefully its nothin! the tires looks perfect.
also i'll be looking into possibley joining the National G club.. anyone can hook me up on that? i have read some posts from the club, but never really chime in since i didnt have a G. now i do, i would love to get to know some of you guys!
again, sorry for the long post... drive safe and enjoy our G!! im glad to be in the family.
p.s. the pix are from the dealer website when they were selling it. i'll take some pix myself when i get a chance.

bone stock so nothin too special. but i'll slowly doing some light mods as i save up more money!
also, one last question. how do you guys clean the wheels? when i got the car, the dealer had cleaned it with some oily stuff, and now my rim looks all weird with greese mark on them. how do i get rid of it? i dont trust the dealers very much to ask them to clean it off. i try to rub it with my finger, but it wont come off. it looks like huge blobs of stain or something. does anyone know what im talking about?
please help if you know how i can clean it off. thanks a bunch!
peace,
Jackson

Congrats! We expect no less of a long post from new owners! It shows your excitement! We've all been there!
As for your wheels, maybe take it to a professional detailer to have a quick look. Maybe they can recommend something. I would caution selecting a wheel cleaning product on your own. If the wheel cleaner is too strong, it may eat away at the wheel's finish. Hopefully others will be able to shed some light as to which cleaners they have used to be the most effective without harm.
Again, congrats and enjoy!

thanks guys. its been very exciting and it's even more exciting driving this thing. the blind spot is something im still trying to get used to, but overall, im pretty comfortable with the car now. still cant believe how easy it is to drive!
i'll start looking into light mods such as clear corners and whatnot. then once i save up more money, then i'll go into more HEAVY stuff..lol.. wheels, suspension, and most importantly Performance! the car looks awsome as is so i dont think i'll change much on the looks. its so clean and classy, but im sure i'll want more power down the road (hopefully not TOOO soon, cuz im totally broke now..haha)
no one has replied the questions yet, but do you guys think i got a good deal on the car? and also with clear-bra and lo-jack?
