New Coupe Owner and N00b!
New Coupe Owner and N00b!
Well tonight I put a deposit on a 2004 g35 coupe. I'm so pumped. Tommorrow I am going to pick it up but I couldnt wait to post.
Its black on black (what is the official name of the colour obsidian black?) with aero package. Bone stock, with barely a single blemish. It took me a while to find one but I finally did. 42 k KM on the car (26k miles)
Two questions however before I take the final plunge
1. Ive noticed on the car is that that the tire noise is fairly noticeable on this car. I am assuming this is because of the feathering problems plaguing the 350z and g35 platforms, or could it be something else? Rotors look ok, no grooves, and the wheels do not have any gouges or bends.
Would an alignment fix this?
2. The owner did not get doesnt have the maintenance intervals stamped, and didn't get all of the work done at the dealer. She just did an oil change at the dealer before I checked it out and has a receipt for that. They did not mention anything to her about the car.
Will i have issues with the warranty if anything comes up?

Most people do not bother marking up their owners/maintenance manual when performing service intervals. Also, most dealerships will let their customers know when it's time for an oil & filter change based on the US driving average of 12,000 to 15,000 miles per year. The car's oil is a common enough 5w-30 synthetic blend so you can roll up to most gas stations and they'll be prepared to service your car...basically, I'm sure the lady has maintained the car appropriately and it would be hard for Infiniti to prove the car was not adequately taken care of if something happens. Naturally, whatever your Infiniti dealership charges for the oil & filter change, it's always best to stick with the dealership as they always keep record of every car's maintenance.
I am assuming the car you are getting has the 18" rims with summer performance tires....summer tires are usually much noisier compared to all-season tires, but you will get used to it very fast. The feathering/alignment problem for the 350Z/G35C was far more common on the 350Z's. An alignment will not reduce tire noise and believe me....don't stress the front-wheel alignment. The summer tires are really sticky so it is really hard to tell when your car is out of alignment.
Congrats on the car, Black Obsidian is the bomb, and post some pics when ya get her.

congrats and welcome
1. Jst use the tires until they bald and theres not really anything you can do about it (maybe an alignment if the wheels have 60% or more left) and after the tread wears..........get some new wheels and tires
2. Take it to the dealer and have them jst give it a service round

He sold it for a new Accord.
If you buy that car, you want a commitment in writing that they will make it right.
