I've Got the Newest G35C on the Forum!
Well, after 21 (yes a full twenty one) years of waiting to buy a new car, endless contemplation what car was the best to pick, mixed in with one bout of cold feet last year when I last tried to buy one.. I made the plunge and bought a brand new serenghetti sand coupe today!!
No special add ons.. 6 speed, wheat interior, but she still is georgeous.
Can't believe how comfortable, full featured, and great looking this car is.
Now I know from this past last year of reading this site that many of you will congrat me and proclaim, "let the modding begin". I, unlike many of you, am an old fart.. don't want better air intake ( I can barely handle whats coming in now) better wheels, more power or doors that open straight up.
I am looking for a few things farily quickly..
1. Clear bra.. Im in the Baltimore/DC area.. anyone know of a realy good installer and any suggestions of brands (i only know of 3M).
2. Clear corners.. I'm sure I'll find them onthis site.. but are they easy to install?
3. GPS.. I'm looking at the Garmin nuvi 350. If you havent seen this little cracker jack, its the size of a deck of cards and really slick.
4. Oil Changes: How soon the first oil change? Im fairly hands on.. any problems doing oil changes myself.. anything I need to know?
One problem I am noticing is a disorientation in elapsed time when I'm driving. Seems I just buckled in and the next thing I know it been a few hours. Is this a dealer serviced issue? or should I just compensate by leaving earlier in the morning for my drives?
Just excited to have this incredible car.
Anyways, I'm happy to now be a qualified member of this community and hope to be a positive contributor to the forum.

Hey congratulations on your new baby!
The G is such a sweet ride - you are going to love it. I actually just got back from a day trip to NYC. Nothing like cruising through the city with the windows down and hearing that exhaust note echo through the streets.
I actually bought my G while on a trip to DC. I was doing some shopping in VA when I spotted my G sitting on a lot and I had to have it! It was an impulse buy that I never regretted. When I have more time, I'm thinking of getting the clear corners too.
Good luck getting your ride "modded"!

2. http://www.g35parts.com/9083/osc/index.php?cPath=26 should have your clear corners that you want. They are the easiest mod to do yourself.
3. If you like external navs than whatever floats your boat.
If you are looking to install something internal, then you can get the double din conversion kit and go and pic either a single din or double din dvd/nav/cd/mp3/xm/sirius unit. This is very costly though, possibly for everything around $1500 to $2500
4. Call your dealership. I got mine right around 3000 miles. Some people here would probably disagree and say that you should get it done sooner because of metal shavings being the greating in the first few thousand miles, so they want them out as soon as possible.
Hope this helps.
congratulations on your new car. i'm also in baltimore.
1. infiniti of annapolis puts on clear bras. they charge $900 for the deluxe which includes everything. most tint shops also sell clear bras...anywhere from $800-$1100. i recommend d&l window tinting if you do not want to drive to annapolis.
2. clear corners require no tools and takes a total of 3 minutes to exchange. you can go try it out by pulling on the open end of the ones on your car.
4. i purchased mine from infiniti of annapolis, and they did my first oil change free of charge. if you want to do your own, i would recommend that you buy some rhino ramps (black high impact plastic low angle drive up ramps). not hard to do yourself. if you do it yourself, make sure you use quality oil, and purchase a filter with a valve-check. most people like to change the oil right after the break in period, but you can just follow the maintenace guidelines in your manual.

clear corner install
Pull on the rear end of the amber lense, in the wheel well. It will pop out.
Grasp lens with one hand and the connector with the other. Push down on the tab and pull the connector out.
Push connector into new lens/bulb.
Push clear lense back in place.
Go to the other side of the car and repeat.
This is assuming you got the OEM clear lenses with the amber bulbs in them.

Thanks guys for the quick and informative answers.
One other mod I will be doing is adding either a Curt receiver or the BDI plate mounted receiver to carry a bike.. While idea of buying this car is going on road trips and going for a bike ride when I get there. Just need to make sure whatever rack system I buy it's sturdy and safe for the car.
It's midnight here and I just went out to the garage and sat in my new car. Is that normal?

Congrats on your baby... she'll be feisty and want to play hard; but remember she's still a virgin...:-) so take it easy the first 1500 miles.
I did my first oil change at 750. It's less than 50 bucks why take a chance.

Well it looks like you allready have all your questions answered. I just wanted to say congrats on the new ride and welcome.
= ) O yeah and wanting to sit in your car at midnight is normal lol. I used to do that and my bf thought I was crazy. I still smile everytime I look at her.

Yeah, what your feeling is normal for G owners. When I first got mine, I washed it 4 times in the first 3 days. My wife said there was something really wrong with me-sitting in it in the garage and all. I still wash it once a week and usually quick detail 2-3 times in between. I'm 45 yrs old, owned alot of cars in my time, and this is the smoothest, best handling car that I have ever had. Enjoy your new G!! Here's.a couple of pics of mine.......

congrats
