are you looking at a new G or used?
I am a big audi I am on my 3rd one! but just leased my fiance a new G35x and love it.
with Quattro do you live in an area where you will get snow. I like the Audi but it is german and needs LOTS of sevice and buying a used turbo is not very good. when i had my 02 1.8t i had two turbos/trannie I guess 1st year problems. that is why if you go with the audi got 03...
I love the interior and fit and finish on the G over the audi plus the features of her 06.
if you have any other ?? let me know

It would either be a 03/04 G35 or '02/03 A4 1.8t quattro. Used cars in that range have about 60,000kms or 37,000miles. I do live in an area that has snow sadly, Canada, so having the quattro would be of great help. Going with the G35, I would not get the X, too much money for me.
Any other things you can tell me? How about ride and performance, gas mileage between the two.
Thanks!

I have both....
a 02 A4 1.8T Quattro (wife's car) & a 03 G35 Coupe 6MT.
I guess it depends on what you are looking for. IMO, when it comes to winter driving, the A4 quattro beats the G35 hands down, even though I run winter tires on my G, since it is my daily driver year round (I live in Michigan). While the G35 is quite usable in the snow as long as you have the proper winter tire setup, it simply does not compare to the AWD quattro in the audi.
Summer driving is another story though, as the G35 simply beats the A4 in all aspects. It is much faster & much more fun to drive. A4 is heavier and slower.
Both are fine cars IMO and we have not had any significant problems with either one. My sugestion to you would be to evaluate your needs/wants and make your own choice. Either way I think you can't go wrong.

New 2
Just picked up my G35x a couple hours ago
Traded my 2001 A4 1.8T.The Audi had 100,000 + and I didn't trust the turbo.
Heating core was going and I live in New Engand.
The Audi cost some repair $$$ thru thre years but was a fun car.
I am very much looking forward to my new ride.
IS there a break in period for the new G?
