Another new owner
Hi All,
Been cruising the forums for a couple of months now, thanks for lots of good info. I have an 07 G35S 6MT, PG/G, Premium and Sirius sitting at the dealership, expect to take delivery next week. I'm coming out of an 04 Acura TSX 6MT which I have enjoyed a lot for four years, but I'm ready to move on.
Other cars I considered:
BMW 328/335--Great dynamics, 335 is really quick, but pricey for what you get, didn't want to have to deal with run-flats, sport suspension too stiff for daily driver in New England, reliability concerns. But the dealer offered $500 over invoice (!)
Acura TL-S--Nice engine/drivetrain, interior etc. and Honda reliability. Couldn't deal with torque steer, lots of road noise, thumping and crashing in suspension (two different examples did this), didn't really want to pay for nav, near end of model cycle.
Honda Accord V6 6MT--Pretty nice car, adequate power, install real tires and a stiffer rear sway bar and it could be a real sleeper. Bland styling, near end of model cycle. Decided G35 was worth extra cost.
Nissan Altima 3.5 SE 6 MT--Serously considered as an alternative, but numb steering and relentless understeer, plus notchy and somewhat awkward shifter. Also, couldn't get comfortable, with the leather seat I felt like I was sitting on it rather than in it. Again, I decided the G35 was worth the extra cost.
So, there you have it. Looking forward to being an owner and participating in forums.

OK, I picked up my new 07 G35S 6MT this morning!
As previousy mentioned, Platinum Graphite/Graphite, Premium and Sirius, and dealer-installed 3M clear-bra. Decided to pass on Nav as I don't need it real often and have a Garmin portable for when I do.
I'll post some pictures when I get it cleaned up--lot's of snow melt on the roads today, it got pretty dirty just getting it home from the dealer.
Nice to become part of the community here, and thanks again for all the good information. BTW the service manager knew all about the seat heater issue, said they had fixed some prior to any official response from Infiniti, but said he would prefer to do mine when it was in for the 3750 and they had the official TSB and parts. OK by me, shouldn't need it until fall.
