Newb G owner...

Greeting and salutations to all. I apologize in advance for the book. I Picked up a pearl white '03 Sedan with black leather a couple months back and have started feeling the need to change things a bit. I thought I would check in and perhaps get some advice from a few of you vetrans about my pending plans to make sure I am on the right track. Thanks in advance for your help

I bought the car with 30, 010 miles on it. It was a lease turn in and was kept in rather good condition by the previous occupant. However I think there are some issues that need to be addressed and hopefully under warranty or via TSB. Primarily the car shifts funny, I have an auto cuz DC traffic blows. Anyway, it seems to rev up a little before shifting and when in the auto shift mode the shifting is not as responsive as I would like it to be and like I think it should be. It also seems to get confused as to what gear it should be in...especially deciding if it should be in 4th or 5th. Through some research I understand that there is in fact some sort of known issue that is remedied via a reprogramming of sort. Can someone confirm that these symptoms may be eliminated by the TSB service?

Also I want to try and decrease the dip in the power curve that exists on the low end. The car gets a huge surge in power when the revs get up above 4500 or so, but below that it is a dog. I was really hoping to find a nice Stage III kit of sort (intake, exhaust, chip) to eliminate that but apparently Jim Wolf nor Stealin..I mean Stillin (Ex 300Z Twin Turbo owner ) have yet to produce any ECU upgrades for the sedan. I hear there is another company Unichip or something like that that does have an ECU upgrade but I am skeptical of a company that I have never heard of playing wth my A/F mix. Anyone have experience with these folks? what were your results? Has anyone used any type of piggy back system like an Apexi AFC to try and smooth things out?

Also through seraching here it sounds like the HKS Sport exhaust is the way to go in terms of exhaust. Cool with me I had an HKS on my Z and was pleased with the exhaust note and performance of it. I am looking for as much performance as Ican get without getting to obnoxious with the sound. If I could get the G-Coupe note, that would be perfect. Can somebody advise? I suppose I will get a Z tube for the intake as that seems to be a cost effective and worthwhile mod to compliment the exhaust.

Finally I am a bit confused on suspension. I would like to drop the the car about an inch all the way around and I hear that getting some 350Z springs will achieve this. What is the difference between revised and not revised? I also hear that I should look for maybe 350Z springs in the front and G-cupe springs in the rear, is that correct? I have about 35,000 miles on the car now so a suspension upgrade I think is not out of the question, but I am looking to lower the car and would not mind having some adjustability. I had Tokico Illuminas on the Z which did provide some adjustability. What would you all suggest? I guess I should get a STB setup too since the car understeers like a **** but I am hoping some wider rubber and the suspension tweak will help that. Should I also look for some adjustable upper A arms too, or do they even exist?

In a nutshell I want a better exhaust note, better low range, and better handling for the car at this point. again I apologize for the novel and appreciate any feedback you all are willing to give.
