First of all, I could not be happier with this car. I am still reading the manuals, etc. I have done a few searches but wanted to ask...

Is there a way to set the headlights to come on when the wipers are turned on?

Anybody unhappy with switching to synthetic oil? (i read the FAQ already)

Thanks

Welcome first off.

Second, not sure on the lights question.

Third, I would suggest you post that in the Engine, Drivetrain section as it's own thread. You'll likely get more responses that way.

I haven't seen the option to fire up the lights when the wipers are on.
The damn auto-lights are so sensitive that if it's anything but absolutely sunny, they'll be on anyways, even on the lowest sensitivity. LOL
My Jeep Grand Cherokee had that opion, I kinda liked it too.

Welcome to the site and congratulations on your new G.

No there is no setting to do that with the headlights.

Lots of guys run synthetic.Personally, I think it best to use regular dino for the first few oil changes untill you have the car well broken in, then do your switch.

From what I have been told by the service managers they recommend that you stick with regular oil until you are at 16K miles.

You can change over to synth oil at any time. You can even use it to break-in your engine just like Porsche, Corvettes and many other cars do.

My sport is just the opposite. I has to be very dark before my lights come on. I am always turning them on manually when it rains or early in the morning wheny they don't come on by themselves.

Mine are in the "too sensitive" camp. Drive under an overpass for more than a second, and they come on, only to go off one second later.

Aweful.

I am guessing you guys know you can adjust the auto light sensitivity with the settings function on the big screen.

+1. switch to synth whenever you want.

more important is to do an "early" oil change or two, if you can afford it. I do a 100 mile change to get rid of flash shavings (hopefully there aren't any, so this is just insurance), and then another after the break-in is over. i only change the filter after the break-in is over. it's more important to have CLEAN oil during break in, than the TYPE of oil.

Yup. In my opinion what it needs is a user variable 10-60 second "pause" before it elects to turn the lights on or off whenever it is in auto
