Today is the day!

Picking up my G35x today. The anticipation is killing me. I should've taken the day off, since it's doubtful I will get any work done anyway!

Thanks everyone. It's a G35X in liquid platinum/graphite with premium, navigation and technology packages. No mods or wheels planned, since it's a leased car, but dealer is tinting the windows before I pick it up.

Funny thing. Visiting this forum is the closest I can get to the car, so I am unable to stay away.

I heard that there was some type of problem with your G and you'll have to wait until Monday to pick it up!

Just jokin' man, have fun picking up your new baby today and post some pics when you have a chance.

Man, it was fun to drive off the lot yesterday. A coworker set me up with a driving away CD, and the first song on it was Kid Rock-Devil Without a Cause. Not being a Kid Rock fan, I had no idea what the relevancy of the selection was until the chorus, which went something like "Devil without a cause, I'm going platinum." I had to laugh.

I'm still learning my way around the various systems in the car, but for the most part they are fairly intuitive. The adaptive headlights are pretty cool--the feature ALMOST made my wife jealous (actually, she is not capable of that emotion). My initial impression of the navigation is that it is at least as good, and maybe better than the one in our Odyssey.

OK, I swear I read what I think are the relevant pages in the navigation manual, but I could not find the answer to something. When you are in map view, and you see the icons (restaurants, etc.), how do you get to see what specific establishment each icon represents? In the Honda, you put the cursor over the icon and push the enter button, but when I tried that in the G, the car wanted to map a route, and it didn't even give me the name of the place at that point. Any help would be appreciated.

I will post pictures of the new G over the weekend.

I'm jealous of my wife's 07 G35x, even though my 05 G35 coupe is modded all to hell, with a JWT TT kit even. The 07 is a sweet ride, congrats on your getting one!

Two quick shots that I took this morning.

The car is everything I expected it to be. The coupe is a memory.
