New here with decisions to make.

My name is Joe, I am in San Diego and new to this forum. I use to own a 04 coupe and had to get rid of it. I am now getting a new one but have a couple of decisions to make. I have already decided that I am getting a 07 coupe instead of the g37. My problem now is AT or 6MT. Like I said before I am in san diego and anyone that lives in so cal knows traffic blows out here. But I will be giving up what? about 20hp? I would really like that extra hp. Next is the color. I am down to 3 colors...blue/red or pearl. Now I have had real bad luck with blue cars since my g. So I dont really want to curse my self and mess my new car up. So should I go laser red or IP. These are the only two things holding me back from purchasing my new car. I am getting the sport pkg with out nav and with out blose. I plan on adding the z1 into instead. Please help with my problems. tks.

Joe

Joe . . . Welcome to the 'Driver boards. You're going to enjoying visiting here.

If you will be satisfied with driving an AT, I would opt for the said. The '05, '06, and '07 6MT's are prone to an oil consumption issue. There are members here whom are are their 2nd engines and many whom are experiencing the dreaded 'Oil consumption Test.'

In truth, you will not really be giving up as many ponies, if any, as you think you will be in getting the AT. The 6MT models actually have less torque.

In any event, I trust that you will enjoy the car of your choice.

the hp wouldnt really be noticeable but if you have to ask, youre probably gonna be happier with the MT... get watever color you like! I love the IP's

The shift between the first and the second gear on the 6MT is really annoying. Not to mention that smooth engagement on 1st gear from stop is almost impossible. But i'm still happy with my 6MT, i've always enjoyed driving a manual.

i driven the car a few times and never had any problems shifting. I am only concerned with sitting in traffic and having a manual. That would really suck. But then again maybe not. Does anyone here sit in crazy traffic in a 6mt and still love it?
