Member for 12 days, owner for 12 hours! :)

Hello all. After looking for what seemed like an eternity, I finally picked up my new baby this morning. A nice 7 hour drive to North Carolina last night riding with my friend in his lightly modded, and what I now consider to be mildy uncomfortable, 350z, dumped on 19" Volks (arriving at 3am,) and getting up at 8 to be at the dealership. And of course, the most fun 7 hour drive on the way back in the newest member of my family... enjoying my much more comfortable seats, sunroof, and backseat to hold my cooler.

2004, DG 6MT, black leather, Bose, Brembo's, wing, navigation... the works. It damn sure took me long enough to FIND this car. But the dealer was fantastic and I couldn't have asked for better service. Pics coming soon, if anyone actually cares. I'm sure you already know what it looks like.

As for me: Sorry guys, I'm not an engineer like everyone else here. I'm in advertising. However, I was a mechanic in college for 4 years, and have been racing and building cars for close to 10. I speak when I know, I keep my mouth shut when I don't. I'm always open to being corrected if I'm wrong, I use the search button, I respect my elder members, and I like long walks on the beach.

This place seems fantastic so far. Everyone is helpful, and the sarcasm is hilarious.

I only have two complaints:
#1. I hate being a car-length back when running my buddy's 350 from a roll up to... uh, well, nevermind. Time for mods!
#2. The left channel on the Bose cuts in and out on occasion when I hit a bump. I tap the side of the radio and it comes back to life. I'll be making a trip to the dealer Monday to introduce myself, and make good use of the 8 month factory warranty I have left.

Glad to be here, hope I can contribute in some way. This is one of the best forums I've been to in a looooong time.

Congratulation on the purchase, I expect the car to treat you with dignity. My 2006 Coupe has been very good to me, but it's time for her to meet another driver. (It's a lease) In my experience, Infiniti has been good to me, expect the noise.

Now to pick between the 2008 Infiniti M class or 335i Coupe.

Congrats! ... You will love her... take care of her and she will take care of you...

I bought my 04 new in Nov of 03 and she has 80K on her now. I am keeping this car until the wheels fall off and she does not roll down hill anymore! ...

I will have a GT-R tho as well next year.... Time to buy another house with a 5 car garage I guess..

Thanks guys. I loved the 350 when it first came out, with a few exceptions... the back end, lack of comfort on the inside, and a few other things. Then I saw the Gcoupe, and all of that was remedied better than I could have hoped for. I've wanted one ever since. I put off getting it for years, and when I had two friends get 350's I almost went with a CLK 430.... but I always come back to the cars that I love.

There was no talking me out of it. I honestly had never even sat in a G Coupe, much less driven one. I drove a friends G35 sedan once before he got rid of it about three years ago, and I've driven the 350's a good bit, but nothing compares. I bought this car without ever sitting in, much less driving, a G Coupe, and I was not disappointed. In fact, my wife said that I'm going to have to have the smile surgically removed from my face.

This may seem wierd, but it almost feels like a 10 year newer, upgraded version of my Prelude VTEC.... only a little faster and more refined.

My Prelude is now gutted with a 10 point cage and is half flat black, half carbon fiber. In other words, a true track wh*re. I'm 29, and it's about time I treated myself to another street treat.

I could have typed the exact same paragraph last fall when I picked up mine...

and good or bad...the smile doesn't really go away. Your wife is going to have to just get used to it

Welcome!!!

Hey - as far as your trip to the dealer - check out www.infinitihelp.com

Go through the bulletins and take that long list of items with you. Tell them you want to have everything fixed, so you know the car is perfect. Some of the items may have been done by the previous owner, and if they tell you that, tell them you would like a copy of the service record for your records.

In fact - any dealer can give you a history report like this. It'll give you a little more peace of mind as well.

Perfect. I'll print myself a nice long list and compare it to the services records. It was a lease car, so it should have all the records.

First car I've ever owned that doesn't have a single door ding or rock chip. Almost makes me not want to take it out of the garage.

I didn't get the best deal in the world, but it was about what I was prepared to pay. $26k, with 30k miles. *shrug* It's got new Michelin tires, not a single scratch or door ding, and was driven by an old man. Rock on.
