The wait begins... 08 G35x Sport
Took off work early Friday and pulled the trigger! Could not resist taking advantage of Infiniti 3.9% and local sales tax deduction, both expiring at year end.
I fired off an email to the salesperson early Thursday morning inquiring about the possibility of finding a G35x Sport in Slate Blue / Graphite that would allow this to happen. Got a response Friday morning that there was one due to arrive on the 4th and three others at the end of January. After discussing with the sales manager plus a few phone calls about the specific car, there was much confidence that they would complete the paperwork before 12/31, if not in fact deliver the car.
As of 3pm Friday the 7th, my name is on that one as SOLD! At that time, the car was in transit west of Hawaii. Transit time from the port to Seattle is 10 to 14 days. I was told the invoice proceeds the vehicle by a few days which is required to log the sale for the 3.9% before 01/02. I go in to do the paperwork on the 29th or 30th which gets me the sales tax dedection.
Soon to be in a

Congrats!! I'm in the same boat, hate the wait...ordered the exact same car as you with the same exterior/interior combo. I put down a $500 deposit and was told the vehicle should arrive by beginning of January.
Yeah no kidding the wait is rough! The plus side is it gives me time to make a few decisions like, tinting / clear bra / paint sealants / dealer installed or not.... it also gives me time to re-do the garage before it gets here!

I have one of the new G35x sedans and let me tell you that it runs like a scalded dog! I took it up to the North Carolina mountains this past weekend and had a blast. There wasn't a car on the road that could keep up. With that said, I did not encounter any porshes or exotics, but there was a Audi 3.2 quatro that I smoked. The x accelerated great through the turns and the VDC only had to pull me back a couple of times. You guys are going to love this car!
Excellent choice. I have the 07 6MT but might have been tempted by the X Sport if it came with a manual. In any case, the car is just a blast: solid, powerful and responsive.
Beware of tire pressure when you take delivery. They come trucked over pressurized (above 40psi). Make sure the dealer reduces the tire pressure to 33psi (as recommended or 34psi as most of us "spirited" drivers prefer.
Isn't the blue slate the coolest? It turns gray or purple depending on the ambient light.

Yeah, up in the great northwest with the weather there you'll really enjoy the blue slate. I'm not being facetious, having graduated from UW, I know that it mists and slightly clears everyday from Sept to June. So the blue slate will really work for you. Don't neglect to check the tires upon delivery.
You might also think about going to the Goodyear all season F1s to replace the summer tires which come on the Sport 6MT and I assume come on the new X Sport. When it gets near 40 degrees (not that often I know), the summer Bridgestone Potenzas become stiff and are dangerous in the rain.
Goodyears are terrific in the rain and cold.

Updated delivery date!
I received an email Saturday morning telling me that my car will be delivered on the 28th, 6 days early!! I inquired further with the dealer about paper work details and instructions to not detail the car. I just got a confirming reply to be there first thing Friday morning and if I wanted all the tape and plastic left on the car.
In anticipation, last Thursday I ordered up a detailing kit from George over at Detailed Image. It should be here on Thursday. Very helpful and responsive to my questions on the various products and how to use them. Thanks again George.
I installed some new lighting in my garage today as part of the process of making space for the new arrival. Man I can't wait...
