Hey everyone.. I just bought an 08 G35X ...picking it up this Saturday.. was wondering if people could post pics of their car with 20% tint.. the pics I see on this site are mostly of 35% and 5%.. My last car (Acura TSX) had 35% but I was disappointed by how light it looked but I also don't want to be bothered by the police.. any help would be greatly appreciated.. thanks

 

Well I just picked mine up last Saturday so I don't have the tint done yet. But, welcome aboard and good luck with the wait. The last few days before delivery were brutal.

 

Welscome! Where you are located? I think 20% is the perfect tint, but in California its asking to be pulled over. 35% I do think is a bit light, especially with light interior, but also severely reduces your chances of getting hassled by police.

Should be lots of 20% floating around here though. Look through the pics thread, or search by 20% and you should find lots.

 

I'm from Boston, MA .. pretty excited about the car.. a lot more power than my old car (Acura TSX)... I heard that they were getting pretty strict here(MA) about the tint laws but I have 35% on my windows now and think it's too light.. where in CA are you? I have family down there

 

I am from MA also, just 25 minutes north of Boston. I have 20% on the back window and the 2 sides and 35% on the 2 fronts, keep in mind the cars come with a factory tint to them and when you put 35% on them its really 28% or soo, my windows are really dark and its only a matter of time before I get stopped I drive by the State poilce barracks every day in Danvers MA and by 2 police stations also. Plus the car sticks out like a soar thumb I have 22" chrome wheels on it.

 

Congrats on the new ride! I think the windows of the 2008 G already has a built-in 8% tint. So keep that in mind. Also, if you have a black interior, the tint will look darker. I have 35% on all sides with 20% on the rear. I have black interiors. The law in Texas is 20%. I didn't go with 20% tint, because I would have been under 20% with the built-in tint. But in retrospect, I should have gone 20%, because I think 35% is a bit light for me.
