2008 G35 Journey Sedan no sunroof
Red face from 92 Q to silver 08 sedan (no sunroof!)

Ethanol (new to ATL) is killing the injectors on my '92 Q, and dealer happened to have a G sedan without a sunroof (I need the headroom).... so why not?

A few impressions after first day:

* Interior is very high quality compared to Nissans... except the carpet and the floormats. May have to get Nissan all weather mats or aftermarket rubber mats. Advice?

* Interior lighting is not very romantic -- the maps lights are like being in the dentist's chair.

* Base stereo has a lot of room for improvement, I wish they offered the premium audio without the sunroof. CDs sound noticeably better than XM radio -- but this is my first experience with sat radio, so having fun with that.

* Silver wasn't my first choice (was thinking black or red) but it's practical. It looks naked without a tint, will take care of that soon. Any suggestions for a quality flat black tint? (prefer no mirror/metallic effect)

* No sunroof adds a lot of headroom in the rear too (or so it seems). Rear seat doesn't feel clausterphobic at all, and I'm 6'2"/220 with short legs and long torso. Rear headroom is better than Altima, Maxima, and M35 -- all of which have a steeply sloped roof which cuts off rear headroom.

I was thinking of waiting to see how the '09 Maxima felt (saw it at auto show, but couldn't sit in it) but I decided it looks like a whale shark.

No regrets with the G! (other than car payments)

welcome to the club! i'm in atlanta too man and I just got my car tinted by Barry Woods, he uses quality tint and it only costs $140!!! you can check out my car to see the work if you want, i work in the dunwoody area and live in midtown.

The guy that did my tint lives in Lawrenceville, right off sugarloaf parkway. His number is 770-963-7924 and his name is Barry Woods. You can't beat the quality and definitely not the price. Oh yeah, I don't have a sunroof either!

^ Thanks..... will call Larry and see what he has. I called around to see what's out there.... may want to try a ceramic tint, Solarworks has a formula 1 version for $350. A little steep, but I got a cheapo tint job on the old Q and it hasn't aged well.

Agreed.

I'm tempted to fix it, keep it, and make it a weekends car. But I'm probably better off selling it to someone as is and let them fix it themselves. It would be a great project car -- or drift machine.
