Thumbs up Happy BMW Convert on Board

Hello All,
Thanks to everyone who replied to my posts in the "Other Cars/Comparisons" sub-forum. I finally pulled the trigger and picked up my LP/Graphite 08 G35 Journey w/Sport/Nav/Prem/Splashguards on Wednesday. I was so nervous selling my awesome 2003 540i Sport to get the G, but this car is everything I hoped for and more. I am so happy with the power, steering feel, and ride quality. Anyone considering a 335 or 328 needs to give the G a serious look. IMHO there is no way to justify the $10K premium for the 335, and you get so much more for the same money compared to the 328. Have never had more positive comments about a car's looks. Keeping it below 4K for 1200 miles is going to be a real challenge! Some basic pics for now:

Yes many of us new G owners came from or considered the BMW 3 or 5 series. Join the club. Many of the BMW crowd aren't really spirited sport drivers. The G is the real deal and a great deal at that. But no whining about MPGs.

Is your new Journey a sport package with that red "S?" Did you consider the 6MT?

In any case, looking good, bro!

Or a 528/535. Interior room in the G is more similar to the 5 series than the 3 series, though headroom in the G is tighter with a sunroof.

Bold move getting rid of the 03 540, I hope you got good money for it. Tell us some BMW horror stories so we all feel better about our G.

Great color choice! Know what type of film was used for the tint?

Ha ha...BMW horror stories. Luckily mine was CPO, so not too much pain. I did know my Service Advisor very well...had to replace the battery the day before I sold it. Cost? $300 not covered by CPO. I would never, ever, own a BMW out of warranty.

It is interesting how closely the interior dimensions match my E39. The interior feels way larger than the E90, even though the E90 is wider. Must be the way the doors, seats, and dash are sculpted. With the G (and E39), there are a lot of swooping curves, while the E90 has a lot of slab sides.

Mine is a 5AT...considered the 6MT, but I do a lot of driving for work and my right hand is usually jotting notes. Also, the wife used to burn the clutch on my former '02 530 stick. I actually like the 5AT's response in sport mode. Drove two 6MT's, and while I thought they were very fun, the 5AT better suited my needs.

Not sure what film was used, or even what % tint it is. The tint was done at Infinity of West Houston before it was shipped to Gunn.

Thanks for all the comments!
